does any one out there know much about this gun? the are hard to find in the blued config that i am looking into, but seem to be a good price. i am wondering how their accuracy is and weather or not it will cycle .22 shorts and .22 longs through it, as i want it for shooting cb caps for quiet critter sniping with out pissing off the neighbors. the manufacturer puts stickers all over the gun stating .22lr only. or should i just find a good remington 513t and build a great gun from that platform?
I doubt that you'll have much luck cycling 22 shorts in a Savage MK2. FWIW, I think that a 22 bolt action with a tubular magazine, like the Remington 512/582, would be the best bet for feeding 22 CBs and 22 Shorts. The 22 Long uses the same case as the 22 LR, so it might work, but where do you find 22 Longs these days?

cb longs are easy to come by. i think walmart sells them and i can definatly get them from midsouth shooters supply. i am wanting something with a bull barrel for the best accuracy as i shoot alot of pidgeons inside farmers barns for them and i dont want to be poking holes in thier barn roofs. at the moment i use a pellet gun but want something with more punch. the savage seems to be a good deal for the money, but i do know where i can get a rem 513t for $350 that is in good shape.
