I'm looking to pick up a new .22LR plinker and have had my eye on three different models. I'm trying to decide between the tactical-style Mossberg 715T, MP5-looking ATI GSG-16, and the more traditional Mossberg 702 Plinkster. I'd love to hear from anyone who has hands-on experience with any of them. I'm mostly curious about which one you found to be the most reliable with cheap ammo and the easiest to live with in terms of cleaning and general maintenance. The GSG-16 and 715T definitely have the cool factor, but I wonder if the simpler 702 Plinkster is the smarter choice for a no-fuss range toy.

Are you set on one of those? Neither are going to break the bank. But I would find a used 10-22 with a barrel up-grade, plenty out there. They have a long history behind them of function.
