Age of marlin 39

I just bought a Marlin 39 new in the box (don't hate me) that I think was manufactured in 1969. Its' serial number starts with 69 has a space and then the rest of the serial number. Does this mean it was manufactured in 1969?

Yes. From late in 1968 through 1972 that was the code for Marlins.
