Hi all I put in my application for a permit for the following If you click the photo it gives you a somewhat larger one. I'm not sure what the stock is, but it looks like it may not be walnut. My stock looks very similar. What say you guys? -- Promise me, when I die, don't let my wife sell my guns for what I told I her I paid for them.

Looks like it could be beech or birch wood- a very good .22 regardless. "If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy."

Bren, sorry you have to go through so many hoops for a .22, but you will like your CZ. Trigger can use some help, but easy, cheap fixes are posted on the rimfirecentral.com forum. It's the only weak point other than being a little sticky like all the CZ rifles. There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author

Thanks guys - it's the way the cookie crumbles. The only reason I'm getting this is I'm getting rid of my old Brno Mod 1 - giving it to my cousin in Canada. He's younger than me and was my dad's favourite nephew, and my kids aren't interested, so ... Anyway - I ordered one of these the other day for it. I reckon that'll get rid of that cheap looking trigger guard. -- Promise me, when I die, don't let my wife sell my guns for what I told I her I paid for them.

CZ triggers. Built a few early on. They worked as low as 2oz. Couldn't get the bolt release to work properly. Trigger was great. ![]() ![]() I gave the design and 2 triggers to a gunsmith in Tasmania. The CZ is a pretty damn good rimfire.

You done good. A CZ had unlimited potential. I have a thread in the "Custom guns" forum showing what I did to mine. The potential accuracy is great. I shoot in rimfire benchrest matches locally and a lot of competitors use CZ's. Just test every kind of ammo you can get your hands on... results will vary a lot. Simply by switching ammo I can go from 1" groups at 50 yds. down to under 1/4" groups. Dick Wright

The CZ452 is THE best general purpose 22 available today! Especially at the price.

Hi Dick - I did see what you did there and was most impressed. You are pretty talented (by pretty, I mean VERY). Saeed, I agree they are great, just that new availability is getting very patchy, since the production lines have gone over to the 455 from what I hear. Basically once the pipeline is clear, that's it for new ones. -- Promise me, when I die, don't let my wife sell my guns for what I told I her I paid for them.

I have two Brno Models 1s. Fantastic little rifles that are dead nuts accurate.

I ordered another CZ452 today. These rifles are just great.I shot with mine again yesterday and after a few fouling shots printed a near perfect group, from a rest, in the centre of the target at 100yds.I was really impressed.Smart offhand open sight practice with these Cz452's.

Get a trigger kit from Yo Dave in Canada. It's the best twenty buck investment in shooting. (Not hyperbole) I've used these kits on several 452's belonging to me and friends. Installation is fairly easy. If you think you need to, take it to a gunsmith. On my rifle I used the lightest spring. The trigger is now a very crisp single-stage that has a pull of just a few ounces. For twenty bucks you get four springs and four shims, enough for four rifles. Dick Wright

Any major difference between the cz452 and cz452 Lux? Saw on Bud's that they were offering the Lux model in Lefthand. "Let me start off with two words: Made in America"

The lux has a very long barrel 28 inch?? and the stock is in beechwood compared to walnut.

At least in the US, from CZ the 542s are history, except they still are releasing them in left hand models. I think a .22 with a 28 inch long barrel is just damn silly. They lose velocity and are probably not as accurate, not to mention being unwieldy. xxxxxxxxxx When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. Two birds were arguing as to whether a piece of wood was a son of a beech or a son of a birch. A woodpecker came along and they knew he would be an expert, so they asked him. He pecked on it and told them he wasn't sure about the son of a beech or son of a birch, but that was the finest piece of ash he ever stuck his pecker in.
