How about a special topic for commercial seller like Robrost, gr8fuldoug and Will and several more, seems like any particular day you may see 5 or more similar post jamming up the forum?? this way they can FF each other to death and let the rest of us deal with the occasional post.

It is very easy for anyone to just ignore what post they do not wish to see.

If an individual seems to rub you the wrong way, do not read any of his posts.

Saeed,

I think the concern is that some individuals who use the AR classifieds as almost a personal store front drive the other Members ads to the second and third page where they get limited views rather quickly. Especially when each individual item is placed into a separate post.

Saeed, they don't rub me the wrong way it is just controlling without regard to other viewers, many of these post are of the same item, couple that with the repeated TTT implying I have better stuff than anyone else. Give the their own forum and they can post and TTT till they are blue in the face. I post occasionally and I do not TTT but it is unsettling to see a single post get pushed back several pages by these fellows who think they got what you want...

Again I can block them but there may be a day when I am looking for what they have and I can pop over there to look, but I have all the scopes holsters and wallets I can use, I am looking for something special or I don't have.

They are not controlling anything, neither are they stopping others from posting their items.
So now people are being too lazy to scroll down to another page???

Saeed,

In essence, yes customers or buyers in this case are lazy. They rarely look past the first page and almost never look past the second page.

While an individual does not have direct control, an individual can and some do exert de-facto control and sometimes without knowledge.

For example, if I had 20 items to sell - I could list them separately as 20 different posts and that would dominate (hence control) the first two pages.

The one different thing about the Classified section is: Ignoring a posters behavior is a good solution and the right solution in every other forum; however, when you are a Seller other posters behaviors can and do impact your potential customers.

I actually sent a new Member a polite PM once that said - "You might want to consider combining your posts because you just posted 12 items separately and drove half the other posters off the first page." He was very thankful and said he didn't realize it.

You mean like Wesbrook's "ad" in the Custom Built Rifle section ,no less, for stock blanks? That one should have been moved or removed long ago.

larrys,

In this case the last blank left on that thread is far better than any blank ever advertised on AR.

Are you just cheap or a bottom feeder?

I have removed that thread.

It is really not right to post a link to anything people are selling on other forums.

What is the point?

We provide the forums for all members to use, and each forum serves a purpose.

Selling items should only be on the two classified forums.

No links should be posted anywhere else about them.

As you can see, it is not just us who dislike this practice.

Your cooperation would be greatly appreciated.

If it is for sale, it goes in the CLASSIFIED.

No exceptions.

For what it is worth, not much, I agree with Dave about the rasps , which do also have a topic in the classifieds. The seminars are, in my opinion, a different matter, as they deal directly with building custom stocks and rifles. Again, just MY opinion.

Thanks again Saeed for the web site.
