Unless they are using Sat phones we probably won't hear anything up here for a week or two when they come out of the bush.

Larry, Elk88101 is up at Tom Shankster's camp (AK Trophy Hunts) in the Alaskan Range. He said they have 3 Dall Sheep down, but can't fly them out yet due to the weather.

I just heard from Bill Foster. He killed a double broomed ram with 14" bases.
I flew out with Bill in 2011, the year he killed the biggest ram EVER to come out of The Brooks Range. Pretty cool experience flying with that big SOB between us. For some reason he wouldn't let it out of his sight.

Hi Larry, I'm in Kavik in between hunts. I guided my two sheep hunters to two beautiful rams and a 7 1/2 foot Arctic Grizzly.
Will send photos when I get out of here
Cheers

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

The story is almost better than the sheep. I'm looking forward to reading it although I heard it first hand and I promise that Chris earned that great ram the hard way. He is one hell of a hunter.

Larry,

Still stuck in Kavik due to bad weather, but have a couple of half done Caribou capes to keep me busy.

I know a few Anthony's not sure which ones in NWT.

Saw 15 Polar bears the other day out of the PA 12 in 30 mins, "endangered" I don't think so !

I see you got your Dall in NWT, Congrats and well done ! I know you were pulling out all stops to get that one.

All the best

Peter

It was great having you in camp
You definetly worked for that sheep
This hunt will have many memories for you as mine did.
Some people will never experience the overall high thrill and lows of a sheep hunt. And for sure not the work involved like you did.
We did harvest 14 Rams this season so far and still have a few days to go. Please stay in touch will hunt together again soon.
