With this well pipe, I always find the lead goes thru first side and is on the ground in middle of pipe. The 460 has a piece of lead between nickle & quarter flat in size but like 1/8 inch thick; I bet it do some hurtin on everything it gets into. We've shot caribou with that 460 and they went right down. Blk bear didn't go 10 feet. No joke, I can shoot across the Yukon here and hit a moose with that 460 with 200 grainer hornadys. I traded a 45/70 for my 10 inch 460 off a guy floating down the Yukon outta ammo, none available in Alaska that summer. But I saw him hit a 12 inch plate, open sights every other shot at 400 yards; kinda amazed me back then; maybe it shouldn't have, ha ha.

Hey Dirk, the bou are starting to show up, but not in huge numbers quite yet. Subsistence starts this saturday. Daughter wants to kill one before heading back to school and I plan on breaking in that Scar 308. Got a 2 stage Geisselle and that gun is cuttin holes until she gets hot.

A grizz was wanderin around village other day, but swam the river I believe by the time I got there. Locals here shoot every bear they can that comes around where they shouldn't be.
