From: timothy_jennings@fws.gov [ mailto:timothy_jennings@fws.gov] Sent: Wednesday, May 02, 2012 4:07 PM Subject: The Endangered Species Act and You: an invitation to meet with the Fish and Wildlife Service Loussac Library, May 31, 2012 We invite you to join us in a conversation about how the Endangered Species Act (ESA) is working in Alaska. Geoff Haskett, Regional Director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Alaska Region, will be hosting a public event on May 31 at the Loussac Library (details below). Join Geoff and his staff as we discuss FWS priorities for endangered species conservation in Alaska, and how we might better work with you to make the ESA more effective and less contentious. We want to hear from you about your experiences with the ESA in Alaska. You will have the opportunity to ask questions, voice your concerns, and provide comments. Following the conversation, we will hold an Open House to provide an opportunity for informal discussions on listed and candidate species in Alaska, as well as ESA policy issues. Biologists will be available to answer questions about polar bears, southwest population of northern sea otters, Pacific walrus, short-tailed albatross, and Steller's and spectacled eiders. Please feel free to post the attached flier and forward this email to others!
