Any of the famed AR group hunt with Billy Molls in Alaska? Been watching his DVD's and am impressed with the young man and his methods.

Enjoyed watching his TV show way back when..didn't last long..

Talked to him once on phone..nice gentleman. Haven't hunted w/him...sure it would be a blast.

Show was probably 10 yrs ago??? Maybe more!

I met Billy in 2013 while buying some equipment. We started talking sheep hunting. He took me to an outfitter who by chance did not have an opening that fit my schedule. I went with someone else . I was not successful. This was the season after the die off in AK.

I subsequently called Billy to inquire about booking with him. He was very straight up about the die off and recommended that I go to the NWT until things recovered in AK.

I had to respect that.

Just before any unsuccessful hunt.

I shared a sheep camp with Billy back in 2004, I believe. I haven't kept in touch so really can't add anything current.

Just read an article in the Alaska Magazine written by Billy. It was a caribou hunt and he admits he did not follow good instincts with his hunters . He went after some boo and had to cross a rising river the hunt took a little longer than expected and the river got a little wild. When they crossed all but one guy made it across without much trouble but one guy fell in and it was a close call. The guy lost his gun but almost his life. Fast moving water is dangerous where ever you hunt.
As for the sheep die off I thought it was yews and lambs which would not have effected the Rams for years to come. It was over blown and was I think a contributing factor for the new Regulations. I got mine don't need another but hope others get the chance to share the best hunting experience hunting the Dall you could ever imagine.

I hunted sheep with Billy in 2008 and have kept in touch with him since. He's a great guy and a very hard hunter. We had a super trip and harvested a great ram after 6 days of very hard hunting. I would hunt with him again in a minute.
