Good luck with the storm all, from the reports it looks real nasty.

Was just windy here, nothing more.

I sort of thought it was the same as building on the beach in Florida or Hawaii, when the surf is up you're going to get pounded some. thumbdown

Our experience was very similar here in Nome. We did have a major structure fire in town. No lives lost. Praise God.

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

Friends of ours were on a Northwest Passage cruise headed to Nome. Small ship, Silver Seas, Silver WIND, conventional, not an Expedition ship... they anchored up in a small lagoon for 3 days while the Typhoon blew thru!!
I have never heard of that before!! 3 days late into Nome...then all connections were messed up!!
