This is a fantastic video on mountain goat ecology, conservation, hunting, aging, and sexing. It's well worth the less than 10 minutes!

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

An excellent discourse on Goat biology, ecology. I have saved a copy for future reference.
Thankyou for posting.

I guess I am the only one who thought that, yes it was a well done show and you know who did a nice job of talking and narrating.......I just don't know what was so special about it. It was a good hunting episode, the way they should all be at the very least......... but I think a mountain goat conservation, hunting, sexing and aging video is a bit of a stretch. Unless there was more on clips I did not see.

Not trying to be negative.....just my take on what I saw and I hunted and guided for goats for several decades.

Cheers!

Ok....I'll admit I'm a bit lost by your response. That said the point of it/why I thought it was so great was because it is informative on goat conservation and sexing. Maybe not super fun and entertaining, but I think a valuable tool for those of us interested in goat hunting.

I agree with Brett, it was meant to be an introduction to those who want to hunt mountain goats. It provides some education on sexing and the effects of correct identification and its importance. It wasn't meant to be necessarily entertaining or a hunting video.

I thought it might also be a valuable tool to send to clients prior to the hunt if I was guiding for them.

Right there is the problem. I can’t hardly watch a bear information video anymore. Spend to much time critiquing it and not just looking st it from a perspective of someone whose got no idea....
I guide for goats as well. Still thought they did a nice job on the video.
