Anyone hunting them this year? Post your photos & a recap of your hunt. Nothing better than a big ole Ram IMO

I'm not in the sheep hunting game anymore but I have 5 friends hunting this year and have been talking to all and helping arrange 2 of them.
Jeff and his daughter are flying into the Chugach with the finest and most knowledgable pilot guide in the state.
Macen and friend are in Chitna, Barnard country for many days.
Mike and son have a spot on the north side of the Alaska Range that they've been going to for years with good success.
Blake is bringing a younger fellow into Tok and the drainage that I took a dandy and watched my partner shoot a rock about 10 in front of his with a huge broomer about 75yds away!
And finally my friend Zack and his Dad are headed to my ole baliwick!! My last hunt in there I had a monster 515yds from me but it was blowing and raining and I didn't want to try a hail mary on such a splendid ram!
I'll post pictures as they come in,,,hopefully,,,,,

Jim

I heard from an outfitter today. All his first group got rams including a 70 year old who got one over 40.

They got 3 grizzlies today.

My first
Guy got his ram. But the sheep numbers are poor. Hearing bad reports from many air taxi operators in south central. The sheep are there but not in the numbers they were last year.

Interesting. What do you attribute the decline to?

Bad Winter/spring. Fish and game turns out released a bulletin on it as well. The numbers I seen were much worse than what they estimated though.

Blue berry crow is amazing. Seems everyone I talked with had been seeing bears
8 or 9 on the sheep. Bio said 8 I think 9. But really don’t matter. 37”.

Yes, doesn't matter; just trying to see if I can count.
