I am looking at a brown bear hunt across the cook inlet on the main land of Alaska.
The hunt is June 13-23.
Would brown bear hides be ok that time period?

Thanks

Maybe with a late spring. But you will likely encounter some heavy rub spots.

+1

So much has to do with weather and when the Bears "wake up".

It has been a mild winter on the E side of the Inlet we have already (Feb) had bears spotted out of the den. It depends where you are going.

I would suggest you get in touch with ak dept of fish and game concerning triple c outfitters.
They're selling brown bear over bait hunts in national magazines when that's not really what your doing. You are actually being allowed to take a brown bear at a black bear bait sight and you must harvest it in compliance with black bear regulations. In other words you take meat hide and skull. Call the Palmer office and after you talk with them, and you still want to do this hunt, be careful.
They're not thought of very highly by the locals and there's been legal issues.
