https://www.wkrn.com/news/loca...n-missing-in-alaska/ Prayer service held for Dover man missing in Alaska by: Nikki McGee Posted: Sep 11, 2022 / 10:15 PM CDT Updated: Sep 11, 2022 / 10:16 PM CDT NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Sunday marked day 15 of the search for Steve Keel from Dover, a hunter who went missing while on a hunting trip in Alaska. “For him to disappear, as good of an outdoorsman as he is, was shocking. And for him to be gone this long is bewildering, it’s just a huge mystery,” Steve’s wife Liz Keel said. “Where he was headed was a simple chore, to go seven-tenths of a mile, pick up a backpack with meat in it and come back and to their campsite so they could pack up and head out.” Search for Steve Keel: Families of men searching for missing Tennessee hunter in Alaska say they’re proud, anxious Sunday evening, the Women’s Coalition for Community Advocacy held a prayer service for Steve’s safe return. In the meantime, four Stewart County men remain in Alaska searching for Steve. “I just feel like it’s another extension of how this community has come together to support the search for Steve and to support myself and our family. So, our prayers are just going to coalesce into one place,” Liz said. Liz is leaning on prayer and faith to get her through until she’s reunited with her husband. “I just want to say how grateful I am to our community and this team that went up there and their families that allowed them to go. I say until they tell me something different I’m going to be hopeful.” Members of the Women’s Coalition say more people are needed to assist with the search in Alaska. Liz is also asking for help from anyone who has access to search dogs. Kathi kathi@wildtravel.net 708-425-3552 "The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page."

Grizzly on the slope can be ornery and they are always hungry. Did his hunting partner look for the backpack or the missing hunter? If a bear was on that pack with food it would definitely defend its cache. ______________________ DRSS ______________________ Hunt Reports 2015 His & Her Leopards with Derek Littleton of Luwire Safaris - http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/2971090112 2015 Trophy Bull Elephant with CMS http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/1651069012 DIY Brooks Range Sheep Hunt 2013 - http://forums.accuratereloadin...901038191#9901038191 Zambia June/July 2012 with Andrew Baldry - Royal Kafue http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/7971064771 Zambia Sept 2010- Muchinga Safaris http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/4211096141 Namibia Sept 2010 - ARUB Safaris http://forums.accuratereloadin...6321043/m/6781076141

Bodies attract mammals and birds. Both would be easy to detect by search crews. My money says this guy disappeared under the muskeg and might never be seen again for decades. My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

https://www.garmin.com/en-US/p/592606 No matter if you 200 miles offshore, hunting in the Matetsi or fly fishing in Patagonia this works. Good to have and inexpensive. Woke up Sunday am and there were two game wardens and a county sheriff up in our driveway at lodge in Hyde. They wanted to use boat ramp to do an investigation on a hunter that died night before. He was 74 hunting a remote island and had a heart attack in the stand. Sorry for his family. We loose around five hunters a year here in Eastern NC. Most deaths are due to waterfowl hunting on our sounds in bad weather.

https://www.wkrn.com/news/loca...20reported%20missing. Search for missing Middle TN hunter ends with ‘no trace’ in Alaska by: Alicia Patton Posted: Sep 13, 2022 / 08:30 AM CDT Updated: Sep 13, 2022 / 11:06 AM CDT STEWART COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – A team of four men who traveled to Alaska to search for a missing Stewart County man are ending their efforts after no trace of the man was found. Steve Keel, a hunter from Dover, Tennessee, went missing while on a hunting trip in Alaska. Keel and a hunting partner made the trip to Fairbanks on Aug. 20 and on Aug. 28, the Dover man was reported missing. According to neighbors, Keel and his partner briefly separated for what was supposed to be no more than an hour. However, Keel never returned. When the four men learned of the 61-year-old’s disappearance, they hopped on a plane to Fairbanks to aid in a search for the missing Dover man. On Sunday, the four men with military search and rescue experience, reported their efforts had ended after finding no trace of Keel. “Today ended with no trace of Steve. Today’s search will bring to end the efforts of the Dover team for this search. We have a volunteer who will continue to search for the next two to 3 days. The Dover team broke down their camp today and will be heading on the long drive back Fairbanks,” said Chris Dowdy, one of the organizers of the search. “We will continue to support Liz and the Keel family in everyday possible. I personally would like to say that these four men put their heart in to finding Steve. In the coming days we will reevaluate sending another team up to search,” said Dowdy. On Sunday, Keel’s family and friends held a prayer service marking the 15th day of his disappearance. In an additional post, Dowdy said one volunteer remains on the ground to continue the search for Keel but air search assistance is needed. Liz Keel, Steve’s wife, is also calling for help from anyone who has access to search dogs.
