Hello Cal. I have been reading this post for some time now. I was impressed by your fighting spirit to make things right. I felt that you only wanted to right the wrong that had been and from your posts you were "our knight in shiny armour" to see justice prevail.
Was it merely dollars that silenced this post?
Cheers Malcolm

It is very common for the paying party to insist that the "winning" party not communicate any terms of a settlement as a "take it or leave it" offer from the party doing the paying.

Unfortunately that means that the public gets no information about it but the "winning" party gets their money.

I am now registered with them but they don't allow any negative comments to be posted. I can, however, post the facts, not mention any names, and direct those interested to contact me for details. Thanks for the suggestion, and I will post there soon as well as on Nitro Express.

The Alaska Outdoors Forum is a trainwreck. Any forum with advertisers is pretty much the same way.

The few times I posted and asked questions on Alaska Outdoors Forum, it was only happy posts allowed. then one of the moderators, or maybe he is the owner of the forum would email me trying to get me to pay him for his advice. Fortunately there are other forums, like this one, where you are not restricted an censored like on that forum

I agree that Accurate Reloading is a much more "free", and some of the posters are very knowledgable. However, you can count new Alaska posts in the last month on one hand. There is a great deal of knowledge you can acquire on AOF. I tend to visit, and post, on both - as each has it's own strengths and weaknesses.

AK Outdoors is a greedy POS. They are of the same mind set that the now air carriers that refuse to take hunting trophies--cave in to the antis where AO caves to its advertisers and won't allow a poster to speak the truth.

AR is the best there is and, even though Saeed and I disagree at times, I appreciate the openness and honesty of his forum.

2-3 years ago was a post of a gent who had to cancel his SA hunt due to cancer and the PH would not refund his deposit. Another was a gunsmith in Maine who made the worst pair of double rifle barrels one could imagine (or maybe his kids did the work). AR's membership came through and set thing right for the fella who had the barrels made and the SA PH won't post here as members go on the attack for his greedy attitude. Neither of the above would have been allowed to be posted on AO.
I hope the AO forum dies a lonely death.

Don't know if this is the same outfit, but the pilot of this recent crash apparently was flying for an outfit called 70 North LLC.

Safety tip. Don't take a C-172 loaded with four people and do low altitude, slow speed turns - if that's what happened. Altitude and airspeed are your friend.

Seems to be a somewhat common name. I tried to figure it out, but couldn't tell. Bad crash. Guess they were too low and clipped a spruce. Bad start to the year.

I was just in Deadhorse. I heard other bad things about this company that the original post is about. Caution my friends, caution.

A lot of folks on Alaska forums are migrating over to other sites.

This is the reason for no negative postings on the AK Outdoors Forum? They would lose add revenue?
Cal

Another unhappy hunter posted on that forum last week and was told the same thing even though he didn't mention the outfitters name or company. I asked if they weren't going to allow any positive hunt reports as well if they weren't going to allow negative ones? You can guess the response.

To just get to the point here's a link with more Alaska directory bashing on it. Maybe these folks can just start a forum about other forums? A privately owned forum with its own rules seems to really be a hang up for some folks.
