I have a German friend who would like to book a caribou hunt for 2019. Would appreciate recommendations from forum members. Thanks

You might find this interesting ...

In the YouTuber vid below, resident Alaskan caribou hunter and bruin expert, Chuke - also known as 'The Chu-Ken-Nator' to his buds - hunts Caribou with his 1943 M1 Garand!

Gotta love this dude's style! tu2

His M1 wears a forward-mounted Burris 2.75x Scout Scope, and was loaded with 8-rds of Hornady's 168gn AMAX 30-06 ammo in an en bloc clip. (This was actually the hunt where he took two Caribou back-to-back; the second being shot and dropped at 80yds about 10-minutes after the first)

Remember, Caribou ain't that hard to kill. If you got close enough and placed your shot(s) properly, you could probably take one with your Grandpa's lever-action 30-30.

Beautiful Alaskan scenery in the background too ... Good luck!

A good fly-in outfit (not guided, just transport to a good spot to hunt) would be 40 Mile Air out of Tok for the Unit 20 Fortymile Caribou herd. Lately they've been staying in their core area throughout the season - which is where 40 Mile Air will take you. Moose can be also be hunted, but the hunter can only possess one tag - either caribou or moose, but not both.
