EXCERPT......JUNEAU, Alaska (KTUU) - Gov. Mike Dunleavy has announced an initiative to assert state sovereignty over Alaska’s navigable rivers, tidelands and lakes, and the land that sits beneath them.
Micciche said asserting state management over navigable waters would improve access for hunters and fishermen, but also for industry.

ALASKA is a "HARD COUNTRY for OLDMEN". (But if you live it wide'ass open, balls'to the wall, the pedal floored, full throttle, it is a delightful place, to finally just sit-back and savor those memories while sipping Tequila).

Unlike the original 13 Colonies Alaska was purchased by the United States Federal Government for $7.2M from Russia. Every acre was owned by the Federal Government. A lot of folks either don't know that or choose to forget it.

"The Alaska Statehood Act authorized the State to select over 100 million acres of land from the “vacant, unappropriated, unreserved” public land in Alaska, but it also included provisions recognizing property and right to title of land and resources “which may be held by any Indians, Eskimos, or Aleuts.”

I see a future many tribes try to do one of two things.

Take all hunting rights away from non-tribal people or take federal lands away from everyone.
