Are there any decent elk hunts available in the US for under 5K including outfitter fees and license? Or am I just dreaming. Looking for fair chase with a sighting of elk and a 75% chance of a shoot at 300 yds or less with a rifle, with the possibility of a 300 class bull.

This all I can afford.

Thanks

Guided or semi-guided.

I am pretty sure you can get either, just what you're looking for. A friend of mine has gone to Colorado about 5 years in a row, carries a .300 Mag (that gives you an idea of range, although they get in the timber too), I'll ask him how much his is for 5 or 7 days.

You have to be able to ride a horse to go on those hunts though. Can you ride, are you looking for stand hunting or stalk or what?

Check out Kerry Chadwick's references and you might want to book with him.

Look up www.muleshoeoutfitters.com they hunt in the wind river mtns around pinedale,wy. I guide for them and there good people.
Tags are on a draw basis. That's the only downside.
They change the pictures on their website regularly so you could see what we killed last fall. I hope this helps.
