In Kansas and Missouri, where I own land and hunt, the landowner is responsible for all accidents and injury on their land unless it is posted. Missouri is supposed to be easy with the purple paint law that is a No Trespassing sign, but Kansas must actually have signs posted. For the original poster, I will add this...with the land not being posted for a long while, you will need to be very vigilant for several years in order to stop people from just coming anyway. I bought my Missouri property six years ago and still have to run people off every year. I hate to get law enforcement involved, but it is the only way. This year, at the game warden's suggestion, I am putting up "No Nothing" signs to stop the folks that think my lake is a public fishery as well.
