Last year I hunted with Matt on his familys private 12,000 acre ranch. I have never seen so many big bucks in one place in all my years of hunting pronghorns, and I've taken 26 over the years. Myself and a client both took bucks on the first day, and I kick myself for not being picky. I shot a tall, non-typical buck with blond eye lashes (no, I didn't know that until he was on the ground) and stickers coming off both horns. My client shot a beautiful buck with deep, inward facing hooks and long prongs that angled out at 45 degrees. This is a 3 day hunt and lodging and meals are on the ranch. Fully guided, expect bucks in the 75-80 inch range. Sorry, the B&C hunts are booked. We were sold out but this morning two clients had to postpone their hunt until next year due to work issues. That leaves me with two openings. Ranch is located about 60 miles south of Raton. Guide will meet you in Raton to buy your antelope license and stamp (around $279). Landowner tag is included with the cost of the hunt: $2,500 1x1. They will cape out your buck. Meat processing is available in a nearby town or you can quarter and pack in your cooler. This is a beautiful ranch and is not difficult to hunt on foot. You'll see lots of antelope. You won't need sleeping bags as you will stay in the new cabin and sleep in a bed.
