Uncle Mono has to step in again and remind all the children to play nice. You do not have to agree, like or partake of the offer. I understand that feeling. However, the man was upfront and honest. That in itself says a lot especially in a forum where he knows he will take some grief for it. When did we reach the point that we could not have different points of view and convictions? Also, when did it become ok to call names and make demeaning comments when debating our positions? It is not civil and extremely poor form as well as unproductive. It is also poor form to make these types of comments on a mans offer. If you really feel that strongly about it you should start a separate post. Poor form all around. You should be embarrassed and ashamed of your comments. If you want to make a point there is a wrong way and a right way to do so. Look back at these posts and tell me honestly that many of us were not coloring outside the lines.

Good shot Mike! I am a newcomer to this forum and am absolutely embarassed by the comments of my fellow hunters. Leaving this forum to the grown ups would make it much more enjoyable!

Mike, well said - and seconded from here. Some of the replies are very poor taste and beyond what is acceptable in an open forum.

Thank you JTEX

I would like to take the time to thank all of my fellow hunters and conservationist for your humble support, although this offer is not everyone’s CUP OF TEA I have had support from all over.

South Africa, in some cases, is in the unfortunate position of having high fence hunting areas, but this does not make the hunting bad, in fact it made the South African game farmers community the largest conservationists in the world.

AND I AM PROUD TO BE PART OF IT

THANK YOU

Kind Regards

I can not figure for the life of me why some people always gotta be dickheads.

Game farming Lions might just be the way to save them.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

JTEX-- I can't accept the premise that when someone is "up front" about their intention to enagage in reprehensible behavior excuses the behavior.

Bossie-- If you are willing to publicly announce your intention to pimp out pen raised animals in return for money, be prepared to be called a pimp.

Internet advertisement of canned hunts hurt true sportsmen worldwide. Justifying the practice with the disclaimer that the impossibly corrupt government currently in place in South Africa sanctions that activity is a joke.

Questions?????????

Good Day Fellow Hunters

We are still in transit from the Kalahari to Kruger National Park. We took some really nice trophies in the past few days. Two Lions and some plains game 29” Blue Wildebeest, 24.5” Red Hartebeest was some of the best trophies taken.

Penny I am already called a pimp, BY YOU and those who know nothing about hunting and conservation. Better a Pimp than an Ass

Even a bunny hugger would have to admit 6,900 acres is a rather large pen. While this type of hunt may not suit all, it is naive to not recognise that all sorts of animals are bred specifically for slaughter. It is also naive to not recognise that many managed breeding programmes both behind fences & in parks have led to the conservation of species. I have seen an area previously used for a canned lion hunt, and it was around the size of 2 tennis courts. You could hardly categorize this hunt as a canned hunt.

The man has been absolutely straight forward with his hunt offer, which is LEGAL in South Africa.

We might not agree with that. But all we can do is not participate.

We have absolutely no right to dictate how South Africa should run their hunting industry.

Personally, I would not dream of shooting a lion or a buffalo in South Africa. But, there seems to be no end of people who wish to do so.

If we are going to pick holes in the political systems, there is no country that is not corrupted by its own politicians.

So please let us keep politics out of this forum.

We do have the Crater for anyone who wishes to enjoy mudslinging!

First of all I would like to thank Accurate Reloading for the opportunity to participate in their forum. Then I would like to thank all the Accurate Reloading members for their support.
Lion Hunting in the Kalahari is all about the conservation of the Wild Lion in Africa and particularly those in the Kruger National Park and its bordering fence lines, be it South Africa, Zimbabwe or Mozambique.

I am afraid I have to disagree on the shot placement.

Many of them are far too low for my liking, especially the facing lion.

I personally prefer to place my bullet a bit higher than shown, and so far I have had great success.

Thanks for the comment on shot placement ftg767.

I do agree with Saeed, some of the shot placements are not 110% but it gives us an idea of what to aim for, as I always tell my clients, it is better to take a good lung shot than a bad heart shot.
I hope it will be of some help to the hunters. My best advice all is to study THE PERFECT SHOT by Kevin Robertson. You get it in a Mini edition and a Full detailed edition.

Best of Luck

Please gentlemen, could we keep the launguage and topics above board.

Sure we have freedom of speech, and the internet to spread it to the world. However that also carries the responsiblity to behave decently.

I often refer young people, of both sex, to the AR page for information, fun and to wet their appetite for hunting. They do not need your ranting.

Please go elsewhere with the recent choise of laungauge and topic.

there are 5000 wild lion left in Africa, and 7000 captive bred lions in South Africa.

So like it or not stopping the captive bred industry will result in the possible destruction of more than half the worlds lions.

captive bred Lion hunt on foot in thick cover hunted B.M.O tracking 3-5 days $ 20-25 000
wild lion hunt in a good area with a good outfit. 21 days at $ 2500/day and $ 15 000 trophy fee $ 70 000 including taxes.

both options contribute to Lion conservation.

Dont belittle a mans choice and his buget.

I agree with the fact that lion ranch hunts for lions are tricky, because the lions are more aggressive.
Heard it from several people and also those hunts are more reasonable for regular guys.
Hell, most of us don't have 50 G's to hunt lion in wild.
I agree, it is a great deal.
How many of us hunted PG on ranches?
Most of us, so what's the difference?
