Tony lee/Westwind Guide Service has 12-21 April '13 open for two bear hunters. Tony is a long time Alaska Master Guide that operatoes in my old stomping grounds on Unit 17 in SW, AK.

On this April hunt you may not see a lot of bears but 95% of the bears will be boars. Reasonable expectations will be for a bear squaring 8.5"-9.5". These bears will be fresh from the den and the coats will be absolutey luxurious.

Hunt will be spot and stalk using snowmobiles to get around. The snowmobiles allow you to cover a lot of country on your hunt. The terrain is fairly open hill country. The bears and their tracks are easy to see and follow on the snow. The same apllies to wolves which are a definite possibility on this hunt.

Alaska weather is what it is but but in my experence in 22 years in Unit 17 that early spring weather in April can be very nice and some of the best of the year allowing a very pleasant and productive hunt.

Accommodations will be in a nice cabin with good food and a real shower. The shower is a real luxury on these spring hunts.

Jumping off place is Port Alsworth on Lake Clark reached each day by flights from Anchorage.

Tony takes 6 bear hunters each April and still has this middle hunt open for two hunters.

Price:

1x1 10 full hunting day to allow (2) bears for each hunter $15,000. This is one heck of good price as the normal price is $16,500 for (1) bear and $18,500 for (2)

Extras:

Charter: Anchorage-Port Alsworth-camp and overnight in Port Alsworth $1,800 rt
Hunting license $85
Bear tag $500 each
Wolf tag $35
Hotels as necessary before or after the hunt
Trophy shipping

Contact me anytime with questions and for a reference list.

I will be in Africa, otherwise I would take this deal.

I was interested in Aaron's post for browns in the fall, but didn't pull the trigger fast enough. bummer.

Folks,

One spot left. Tony is trying to sell it at the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Convention as I write this. If you want a brown bear or two this deal is gong to be very hard to beat. Give me a call and a verbal commitmment and we can worry about the deposit later. I don't think this hunt will be available at the end of weekend.

Hunted with Tony last fall and got a good bear. He's a great guy and has a great staff. Although I didn't hunt this camp, I heard all about it, including the stories of it's construction.....sounds like a pretty luxe place in the middle of nowhere!!
I did stay in Port Alsworth with my entire family for two weeks and the accomodations are 5 star!! Very nice and you will eat and be treated like a king! Can't say enough good things about that trip.

Somebody snatch it up!

Regards,
Scott

I spoke to Tony Lee today and my client shot a 9' very dark bear yesterday and he's so happy that he does not care about a second one. The bears are just now really starting to come out of their dens. The three bears that Tony has taken so far have all had perfect hair and been taken just as they popped out. The two hunters that just came into camp killed one good bear yesterday and should both kill two each if they want them as they have a full week left to hunt.
