The past hunters had some things come up this year that will not allow them to hunt the ranch this year. Here is your chance to lease the ranch for the season.

Buffalo Springs Ranch Hunting Lease

9100 +/- acre ranch consisting 421 acres of CRP, 250 acres of irrigated farmland with the remaining balance being native grassland. The ranch is located in Dallam County north of the town of Dalhart, Texas, which is 80 miles north of Amarillo, Texas in the Central Flyway. This Region of the Texas Panhandle is home to over 300,000 wintering waterfowl. This is the 2nd largest number of migrating waterfowl in North America. The Ranch is home to the historical Buffalo Springs. The ranch has a nice 6-7 acre pond. It also has approximately 1.5 miles of creek, and several smaller ponds that contain year round water. The ranch also has several smaller playa lakes that will have water on wet years. This ranch is in the far northwest corner of the panhandle of Texas and many miles from other sources of year round water. This makes it a true magnet for waterfowl and wildlife.

These springs are home to 1000s of ducks and some geese during the winter time. The farmland and CRP will also be home to some pheasants. The lease includes waterfowl, pheasant, prairie dogs and coyote hunting. I will also allow for one hunter to shoot one whitetail buck.

I would like to see no more than 4 hunters on the lease. (somewhat flexible ex. kids, guests) Lodging is available on site. The price is $5000 for the whole lease. Contact me via pm, email or phone for more details or to see the ranch.

The biggest in the pic is about 150 acres.

My son and I deer hunted on this place a couple of years back, and while we didn't take a deer (partially as a result of our unfamiliarity with such wide open country hunting), it was covered up with waterfowl. Assuming there is any water, it is well worth the price asked for the duck hunting alone IMO BUT it is not next door to anywhere and a long ways from somewhere. Wink.

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.

I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

Yep we are right in the middle of nowhere!

I don't know anybody that has sage grouse. We have Lesser Prairie Chicken on our ranch in Kansas though.

I will seperate the deer hunt from the bird hunting if anybody is interested in just the birds. I would lease the birds and varmints for $4000.
