If you are looking for great experience hunting mule where you don't hunt from a truck you may want to look at doing this hunt.
This is a first rate hunt, I am not sure why it is not sold out years in advance but here is the reduced pricing

I would suggest being in pretty good shape. Sometime it can be easy and other times we need to put on some miles.

Trophy expectations are mature 4 point bucks scoring from 150 to 180 with the potential there for bigger.

The hunt is based out of my cabin a short walk from the alpine. The camp is accessed by horse, most days involves some riding.
Spike camps are used to access more remote areas which hold good buck. This is a true wilderness hunt no orange vests on every hill.

I have two spots available.

September 1-7 ( bucks are in full velvet)
September 9-15

Hunt cost.
$6500.00 USD for a 1 on 1 hunt New Price $5500.00
$5000 for a 2 on 1 hunt

Included in the price.

Pickup and drop off at Williams lake airport
Trophy field prep.
all food and lodging

Not included:
2.5% tax
License $189.00
deer tag $132.25
wolf tag $52.50
NRHPF $200
Shipping and taxidermy

There has been a couple guys from AR that have been on this trip

That picture says it all! That's a great deal for a real adventure. Can you rifle hunt during the Velvet period?

Jim,
no I don't do any shows

With a small outfit like mine I guide almost all my hunts on my own. So selling out doesn't seem to be a problem for the most part.

Thanks Doug,

Though it might be nice to chat in person. I'll definitely give you a holler when I'm ready for Lion & Lynx.

Cheers
Jim

that is the one thing I do miss out on by not doing the shows. I to would like to meet face to face with many past present and future hunters.

Hi Guys, I will add my experience of this hunt, I hunted this camp with Doug a couple of years ago,,,this is a very beautiful area and remote meaning no other hunters around, it doesn't get any better, you have a good chance at taking a a very good trophy mule deer, the deer that I took was a true alpine muley that was shot above timber line, as far as size goes and Doug will confirm along with Dennis Harris the deer was scratching the door on 400 pounds he was a very old deer, Doug will tell you the story on how we hunted him as it was a great time..I have taken Mt.Lion, Black Bears,Lynx and Deer with Doug,,,you wont go wrong hunting with him.

WOW!!! That's a great price for the chance at a Trophy Mule Deer. Compared to a private land hunt, you would pay double or triple the price.

I can't belive this hunt hasn't sold. I did this hunt with my father in law last year and it was epic. Doug runs a top notch operation and got my dad a trophy buck, not a easy task with a 67 year old client .My dad's in good shape but Doug really pulled it off. He is the real deal. If I wasn't in Europe with my wife for three weeks I would have snapped this one up

I am not sure why guys don't jump all over this hunt.
It has always been a tough one to sell.
I am not sure if people are a little scared of the terrain, the remoteness with no cell service or hunting with a little Irishman in the backwoods.
This will sell I don't worry to much about it.
