Isn't this the same bull that was chasing cars and knocking farm workers off their bicycles several weeks ago? Geez, such a danger to society should have been been turned into biltong by now ! You also need to read the header post above yours before offering a trophy hunt and avoid having the thread removed as per a previous and almost identical offer

Ladies and Gents, This Buff hasn't been hunted yet. As to my knowledge the danger to people was resolved by relocating them. Now the beast has damaged a Land Rover gameviewer and the farmer need this culprit to be hunted A.S.A.P All stays the same as in the original post, except the price is reduced to ZAR 68 000.00 ($9550). The hunt will be for 3-5 days. Area: Limpopo Province (Hoedspruit) Ranch size: plus minus 1200 acres Infenced: Yes PH: Elardus Venter & Myself Date: A.S.A.P Outfitter: Myself Price: ZAR 68 000 ($9550 AS FROM 24 OCTOBER 2011 @ R7.12) Regards, Dream it...Discover it...Experience it... We would really appreciate some more details about the offer; size of concession(game farm?) fenced or not, accomodations, method of hunting (spotting/stalking) or shooting from the jeep, credentials of the PH, references, and details of what makes this animal a danger to people rather than a surplus farm grown bull with a good head?

JCS271 and Sam Wise - ha i think you two are sorely misinformed.... if i had the money i would pay for you both to come out and shoot a buffalo like the above - when a buffalo bull decides that he has had enough of this photo business and takes a disliking to humans boy hunting one can be more scary than most hunts. especially if you know if the buffalo is a bad tempered beast and the thickness of the bush can make following up an animal VERY interesting. Good luck Bushwack

Yes, will he be shot in his barn or will he be called out first? Whoever goes over to deal with that buff will have to be super brave.
|
One of Us |
Sorry it's a shoot- not a hunt. It may well be cranky but you could say that about a lot of zoo animals. Like I say though, whoever goes over to slay him will have to be super brave.

By the way, I don't have a problem with this sort of operation. When you dress it up as something it's not, however (ie a hunt as opposed to a shoot) I get pissed off.

sorry but i dont see what gave you the right swing an axe at this post - i have no dog in this fight but at the end of the day i have had a hunt on 40ha trying to shoot impala rams and getting a buffalo bull on 1200 acres that has a bad temper is going to be a hunt - you might get close a couple of times but probably wont get a shot untill you have stalked it a few times. At R 68 000 ZAR its a hell of a deal and i suppose that all your extensive experience with Buffalo in the London Underground gives you the go ahead to post negatively on this offer. if it aint your cup of tea and its legal then keep it zipped
|

Nice one on the underground joke. I may work in London but I'm not from here. If I didn't know anything about it why would I even bother looking at the post? I'm not arguing that it's not a good deal, I'm not arguing that it's not legal- my argument is that it was dressed up as something it's not. I know the tricks mate. So, basically, it's not my cup of tea, it IS legal but I won't keep it zipped. Sam Wise

Seems to me that whoever got close enough to him to take those lovely photos could have just as well shot him too. If he were a menace is it not irresponsible to risk people's lives by waiting for a "sport hunter" to fly in to shoot him??? Should he not just be shot out of hand? This is a young bull with bosses that haven't even closed yet. Looks like he's about 34-35". Hardly a trophy to be proud of. Somehow I get the strong feeling that when cash is needed quickly the animal in question becomes a danger. I vote that we name him Larry.

It seems to me that if it is a problem animal, and it is an URGENT hunt, it should be priced quite a bit lower than that. If it was REALLY priced right, and the sense of urgency was genuine, I would come over and sort him out with my 45-110 Sharps.

Mate, I don't know anything at all about this hunt and it's not my place to comment anyway but that is VERY cheap for a SA buffalo.
|
One of Us |
Shakari--My reply was a bit tongue in cheek, although I would be willing to sort him out if he were to be offered REALLY cheap. I take the same tack as JohnDL. If he is THAT problematic, and the sense of urgency is that great, then go ahead and solve the problem and forget the size of the profit, soft boss or not. I don't dispute that the price is low for a SA buffalo. But at that, it is still higher than, say, a buff in ZIM. Outfitters here regularly advertise for a bull elk--one animal, mind you--for $8500 to $10,000 US. To my mind, THAT is way over priced, and is the reason that I chose to hunt Africa as my circumstances allow. When I go after my Cape Buffalo, it will be in Zim, or SA with a true problem animal on very short notice and a much deeper discount than is offered. $9500 may be a good price, but I personally don't consider it a bargain.

traducción del español al inglés I'm sorry, but my humble opinion, is that the real danger is the price and what is worse the condition (wild) animal. this kind of hunting is threatening the application of hunters, which included me. would not be unpleasant but it's just unfortunate (of course is my opinion, but that is this forum. NO?)

Isn't that the truth! Price is very good for a ZA buff. 1200 acres = 485.622771 hectares, not a very big piece of land. Definitely not a dagga boy, but I don't see a milk moustache on him either. It is what it is.

Hunted....like I hunt for milk at the 7-eleven. I know it's there and the range of possibilities for its location are absolutely known and pretty damned limited.

"you might get close a couple of times but probably wont get a shot until you have stalked it a few times"......... Wouldn't be too difficult in finding him - just ride the farm tracks on a bicycle ringing its bell and you'll have him out in a jiffy

Did not know 1200 ac was a cattle trap/ humm around 2 sq miles--I bet none of the guys pooping on this own anywhere near that much land. I have to agree with 458AUBS this could be a good hunt. Is it TZ in the Selous....no, but could be a challenge none the less. Good luck in your sale. I wish this hunt would be around in June when my family and I will be in the Limpopo shooting tame animals on my good friends small and undersized high fenced farm ( one is 5,000 ac the other is 4,000 ac) I'd love to hunt him! Hysterical! You critics and doubters who think that finding and killing this bull is like going to 7-Eleven? I doubt you could find a Jersey cow in a dairy barn.
