kldBlair worldwide hunts
Well, for those of you who went to SCI, did you talk to these guys or one of their representatives? and what did they say?
09 February 2012, 21:55
458WinI sat down with Jeff as a long time friend of mine has booked another hunt with him. Jeff was friendly and quite helpful with information.
I did not bring up the subject of past hunts.
Anyone who claims the 30-06 is ineffective has either not tried one, or is unwittingly commenting on their own marksmanship

We Are Sparta!Phil,
Does Mr. Jeff "screw the entire worldwide hunting community" Blair understand his reputation is in the tank?

hunt99Their booth looked deserted to me the couple of times I wandered past.
I hunt to live and live to hunt!

If he was a long time friend you would have steered him clear of the guy and helped him book with someone else!!

larryshoresBlair was friendly and helpful with Mr Henrikson until he got their money. Seems things have changed.

kldseems like" not bringing up the subject of past hunts" is paradoxical, most hunters I know would welcome the chance to talk about "past hunts"

leftcoastI walked by the Blair booth at SCI a couple of times and it was pretty empty. Just saying....

markopolo50Same with me, I walked by their booth twice and never saw anyone there. I was tempted to inquire about AR, but didn't.

Does Blair steer any of your business his way?
It dawned on me the way to put this guy out of business is to boycott any outfitter/guide that uses Blair, even if you don't book through Blair.

Seriously?
You are suggesting that if someone like Muchinga (the du Plooy's), who has multiple different agents that book for them and are an outstanding outfitter in all regards, should be boycotted?
I don't know if Blair books for them or not but Mark, Wendell and many others do and I'm not about to boycott them.
How about we just keep the info alive about Blair and their practices and if someone wants to book with them that is their problem. The info is out there.

You might have a point, but perhaps these outfitters don't know Blair's shenanigans. Phil most certainly does, and so does Wendell. My PH a few weeks ago, who works for Danny McCallum, most certainly now knows Blair.

Cold ZeroI never was a fan of using a booking agent. I always felt they were out to protect their best interest and not the clients. Guess this disgunting story bears that out.
Do your own homework.
If Blair does not want to come on here and address the issue, then do not patronize his business.

DonW28Wow-painful to see how bad someones reputation can be; but it is also the reason I joined this forum. Caveat Emptor.

Trust only those who stand to lose as much as you do when things go wrong.

He gave a piss poor excuse on the other thread in the American hunting section. It was pathetic

Not fair or intelligent to stereotype. Not all booking agents are alike as in any and all professions.

impala#03I too disagree with Cold Zero. Book with a reputable booking agent, they will take care of a lot of details involved with an overseas hunt. You also have someone to call if there are any issues that come up.

No, you are twisting my words. If you think any Business owner is not out to protect their own interests above those of others, you are a fool. Good use of a Liberal tactic though. There is nothing wrong with doing your own homework for a hunt, if there is a mistake, you will be the one to suffer financially.
Are you a shill for Blair Worldwide Hunting ?

The hunts I have been on, the Outfitter signs the contract as well. What's worng with calling the Outiftter or P.H., who will provide the service to you ? If I have an issue, question, or need advice, why would you need to talk to a Bookign Agent, instead of the man who you will be trusting with your life and the success of the hunt ?
For the record, the guy who booked the hunt with Blair, thought he was a "reputable" booking agent as well.
Expensive lesson.

After that ignorant remark I am done with even trying to discuss this post with someone like you. I have never even heard of Tony Blair until this thread. And for the record no one twisted your words.

"They and their" refers to
all which the last time I checked was stereotyping.
Have a good one.
