Some hunts along the Luangwa for '11

Some of you may know that Andrew Baldry and I are working together. He has a fantastic private reserve right on the Luangwa river in Zambia called Munyamadzi. The Luangwa is noted for it's cats but there is excelent plains game hunting there too and for some species not avaiable everywhere such as roan, puku, Lichenstein's hartebeest plus a variety of more common game.

Munyamadzi offers area and camp exclusivity for each hunt including plains game. This allows you a very personalized expereince.

The area is very wild with the riverine bush full of game and the river loaded with hippo plus croc.

The Luangwa is one of my favorite places in Africa. A plains game hunt here will be far more than an opportunity to shoot some game. It will be a classic safari experience in every respect.

Various dates are available throughout the season and Andrew may be able to take some of the hunts.

Pricing:

2x1 10 days $7,000 plus trophy fees for 4 animals for each hunter and one hunter can take a roan.

2x1 10 days $6,000 plus trophy fees for 4 aniamls for each hunter but no roan.

Optional 2 day Kafue lechwe add-on $3,750 to include dialy rates and trophy fee

ROAD TRANSFER FROM Lusaka included in price.

Extra:

Dip/pack $1,500
Observer $250 per day
Entry visa
Ammo tax
Gratuities
Hotels as necessary
International airfare and trophy shipping

Trophy fees:

Roan $6,000
Kudu $2,500
Waterbuck $2,000
Hartebeest $1,600
Puku $800
Grysbok $750
Hyena $750
Bushbuck $750
Warthog $600
Bushpig $600
Duiker $300
Impala $250
Baboon $100

Contact me anytime questions.

Neil,

Sable do not occur in the Luangwa system or rather are extremely rare. However Roan do and there are many. Other sought after antelope are Puku, Kudu, Waterbuck, Bushbuck, Klipspringer and Grysbok.

Photo of a 27 inch plus bull.

Personally I prefer the challenge of hunting Roan.

Andrew - thanks for the info. Don't get me wrong, Roan is definitely an interest. My wife, the new hunter, wants to hunt Sable - hence the question.

I was going ask the same question about buff.

I only sell three buff a year and am quite selective when it comes to age.

Wait until she tells him she wants a Tanzania Lion and a Botswana Elephant.

Andrew - Indeed. Alhtough it's a good kind of expensive Wink

After our trip to the Save in Zim last year, we can't wait to get back. She hunted with us everyday and took her first ever animal on the trip. It was a fantastic experience, expensive, but fantastic...

Zambia is at the top of our list for return.

Could possibly organize one on one of our expansive (fenced) game farms? Otherwise the costs for such a safari in the Kafue are very high.

Yes Rich and you deal directly with the exporter as this is his fee. I will field dress and deliver him your trophies free of charge but from then all costs are yours. This does not include air freight

$1,500 is an average and if you only take one or two animals then it drops to to about $1,000.

Pretty normal for Zambia Rich. You could always leave everything there.
