A beautiful buffalo shot just few days ago on our Masailand concession.

Report yesterday was that it was raining hard in Masailand heralding the beginnings of the short rains. If you know anything about Masailand you know that after the first rains start it is only a few days before the plains are covered in game including lots of buffalo and big buffalo.

Usually a hunter has to try and out guess the weather and take whatever is presented during the hunt time frame he books in Masailand. This year we can offer a somewhat unique opportunity to hunt late season Masailand knowing the rains have started.

We have a few discoounted buffalo still available in Lobo and Lokisale with some openings in the schedule from Oct-Dec.

1X1 10 DAYS (2) buffalo $19,900 was $24,900

1x1 10 days (1) buffalo $17,900 was $21,900

Trophy fees for animals allowed on this hunt:

Ist buff $2,200
2nd buff $2,500
Baboon $200
Bushpig $600
Grants $1,000
Coke's hartebeest $950
Impala $550
Warthog $600
WB Wildebeest $950
Zebra $1,500

Extras:

International airfare
Charter (not necessary)
Hotels before or after hunt
International trophy shipping
Insurance
Entry visa and departure tax
Gratuities

Steve,

That's a tough one as ordinarily Oct can be super dry with tough hunting but this year it might be the superb. I just spoke to Adam and he says there are loads of games on the plains already and with the recent rains it could be a banner year.

Absolutely correct on October being super dry and "phantom showers" will indeed bring the game out of Tarangire but once these rains disappear, so does the game...straight back to the Park - late November is almost a guarantee for rain.Big Grin

Correct! The rains can start and stop about anytime but it looks promising right now.

Anton,

I thought the same thing.

jjs,

Here's something to think about. As we talked about October is often bone dry but that does not equal zero buffalo. A couple of years ago we had a guy booked for October on a 10 day buffalo hunt. He killed a 44"and 48" on the same 10 day safari. The big ones can be there anytime and your December dates are probably perfect. This year I might be on a plane now if I wanted to hunt Masaialand but if I was booking way out ahead I would probably book December as you have.

That is a nice buff and a good price for Dec Masailand. I am booked for Dec 2011 in Masailand.

Wow.....I sincerely hope that nobody in their right mind would consider doing the (1) buff hunt instead of the (2) buff hunt just to save $2k.....that would be a shame.
