Folks, you haven't really experienced adrenaline rushes until you hunt tuskless in the Tiger Bay jess!

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
- Rudyard Kipling

Seeing that picture reminds me of that Jesse and I puckered up again seeing it.

"Sometimes they hunt you"

That's exactly the attraction of DG no other form of hunting can provide.

Open country in the formidable Tigerbay Jesse;

9.3mm bullets are far from ideal in this type of terrain.

And if you think it gets much better late season.... well there is an elephant or two less than 50 feet away.

Yea and what is amazing is how the elephants blend in equally as well in either setting! And so quiet, truly amazing creatures.

A 9.3...ummm...no thanks, not in there.

Jess Chess...how’s that for corny? Fizz Stewart feel free to use this for your next book. Big Grin

This being said, I saw the biggest tuskless of my life in the Omay, outside of Tiger Bay but still close to the Kariba shoreline. She was huge with an enormous bony forehead, but also smart. We got to about 20-30 yards but she sensed us sneaking up behind her and only turned around enough to get a look before trumpeting and heading for the hills, screaming all the way (which got the attention of the fisherman that happened to be in her way). We tried to follow but it was useless.

I hope somebody buys this hunt...just don't get stomped!

ROFL... you are "dead meat" Mike! Once Martin starts that "but you can add a buffalo" and "we can run by Cawston and spend some time chasing sable and tsessebe" you feel your willpower starting to fade and then you just blurt out "OK, OK when do we go!" And then you are properly hooked. Trust me, the voice of experience.

And Bill, when are you off??? It should be nice and green for you my man...

Martin is like a drug dealer. Resistance is futile although I am still holding out.
