7 days Sable and Plainsgame Hunt - $7,950

The Sable hunt will be conducted on a government game reserve called "Koppies" Dam Game Reserve located about 2 hours South of Johannesburg. The area consists of grasslands, savannah and riverine thickets. One can expect a sable in the 40"- 42" range. The cost of the sable is included in the $7,950, which includes the daily rate for 7 days.

Once the Sable is down, for the balance of the remaining days the hunt will move to the operator's private concession in the Eastern Cape near Bloemfontein. Here the hunter can take other species of plains game on approximately half a million acres of hunting area, for trophy fees as detailed below.

Caracal hound fee if applicable - $300 for 2 days

This hunt is priced well below the going market rate for a Sable hunt in South Africa so it is a good deal for someone heading that way! The hunt can be taken anytime upto the end of October 2010.

What can you tell me about " Koppie" - I am interested in a hunt but not a shoot!

I once hunted in a South African government game reserve/park. While it was not this specific park, it was huge. There was very limited quota and we had the place to ourselves. It was the best by far of the eight areas I've hunted in RSA.
