I had one of these hunts available last year, and it sold quickly. Standard price for this hunt is $15,000....but I have been asked by Larry to offer another one of these great hunts at a discount.

This hunt is an all-inclusive 10 day package, with all bush flights included in the price. A 50% deposit ( $6,250 $5,250 ) is required to reserve your dates. Please contact me if you are interested in this hunt.

The client that purchased this hunt last year took a great sheep on the very first day of his hunt. Here are a couple photos....

Hunted with the Ellis family. Great area, lots of sheep. They have been there 40 years and know the drill. It is a no frills hunt and you should kill a sheep. Be in shape.

The best part for me was the "trappers lodge". This is a trappers cabin full of mounts of all kinds of local critters including an albino moose. I liked it.

I too have hunted with the Ellis family. Great folks. Wish I could say the same for Larry (just kidding). I spent 10 days with Larry on a coastal brown bear hunt. Would have been miserable with anyone else. Also got a huge B&C bear.

Just out of curiosity--what are the permit requirements? Surely these aren't over the counter are they?

I have been informed by the outfitter that the Sept. 1-10 date is no longer available....and the price of the hunt has been increased to $12,500.

I assume the price increase is due to the fact that he filled one of the date slots and does not NEED the other spot filled quite as desperately.

It is still a good price for this hunt...

Larry's personal success rate on guiding sheep hunts over the last 19 years is approximately 93% (84 out of 90 hunters took their sheep)....which is outstanding.

Combo hunts are also available....

The hunter can purchase a Grizzly tag (which can then be used for any of the below species since AK tags may be used on any species of equal or lesser value).

Hunt price will stay the same ($12,500)....but if the hunter is successful in taking an additional animal, he would simply pay a trophy fee. Trophy fees are as follows:

Grizzly - $7,000
Moose - $7,000
Black Bear - $3,000

Larry says Moose hunting will be excellent in September, with chances at a Grizzly or Black Bear being good as well.

I hunted this area on my own when I lived there. First hunt was a walk in; second one was a $350 fly in. Shot two sheep.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a great dall sheep hunt in a great area with a great outfitter and guide. They have a tremendous record. Also, you get a shot at a moose or a brown bear for nothing but a very reasonable trophy fee. If you don't get the moose or the brown you don't pay anything. Not to mention, it is already CHEAP for a first class sheep hunt. Crazy not to take it.

Alright guys,

I spoke with Larry this morning and he wants this hunt sold NOW. Therefore, we have dropped the price another $2k for a total price of $10,500!!

I think you will be hard-pressed to find a quality Dall Sheep hunt for a better price.

Also, the only date available now is August 31-September 9 (other client pushed his hunt back). Grizzly, Moose, or Black Bear may still be added to this hunt, given the opportunity, for only the trophy fee.

Here are a few more photos of Larry's past sheep clients....

Somebody needs to snatch this up quick!!

Wow, someone needs to jump on this. This is a world class hunt with a tremendous outfitter. I have hunted there with the Ellis family and been guided by Larry. Took a spectacular sheep and a huge moose. You will NEVER find a better sheep hunt. 163bc (Sam from Va)

Me too but the years are piling up. Sheep hunting is incredibly fun but not a hunt to put off. If you can go as soon as you can. Kirt Ellis has as good an area as there is for sheep with the added possibility of running into a good moose or grizzlie. The Ellis family has had it for 40+ years and have carefully managed it. One of the hunts at the top of my list is a brown bear hunt with Ellis & Larry as my guide. 163bc

Short answer - freak early snow and could not get up to the sheep, but still got the moose. Already booked for sheep next year. I will post a full report in the Alaska forum.

Great bull Vince!! Congratulations....

As you can see from my signature, I am now a real estate agent with Whitetail Properties....and am no longer booking hunts. However, I will always be grateful for your business.

I will have to show these pics to Curtis....he will get a kick out of them!!

Take care.

Why the "buyer beware" comment? There seems to be several AR members that give good recommendations to this outfitter. We have an unsuccessful hunt due to weather and now it is buyer beware. Wow- if there was a 100% guarantee then we would be getting the "canned hunt" speech. Never satisfied are we.

I would not call this an unsuccessful hunt. That was the beauty of the hunt was that you could hunt anything. We almost got a grizzly, and had many opportunities on moose. The day before we got there and the early snow came in, the hunter before us got a really nice sheep. I think a total of five rams were taken. Here is the website: http://www.ebgg.biz The Ellis' post the result of every hunt - whether successful or not. We came in a little late intentionally trying to straddle good sheep hunting and the moose rut. We gambled and lost on the sheep, but got the moose. That is how hunting works. Buyer beware? That is a comment from someone who does not hunt. I will post my sheep next year as I have already booked.
