Due to the Covid fiasco, my TX gulf coast outfitter who normally is booked solid each season had some cancellations that have opened some prime dates for trophy divers and puddle ducks. The Texas gulf coast winters tens of thousands of Redheads (estimated 80% of the wintering population), Scaup a few other divers, Pintails, Wigeon, Teal etc. Inland lakes have Canvasbacks etc. Mottled ducks are a possibility. He has morning or evening hunts for $175 per gun. Local motels/food is in Port O'Connor. Like to fish? This area offers great Winter fishing for Redfish, Trout, black Drum, Flounder etc. You can book to hunt ducks in the morning and fish in the afternoon. Contact me ASAP if these dates will work for you. He gets a lot of repeat business. I'll be there on January 6th. Dates now open are: December 13,14,15,19,20th or January 20,21,22nd. Just curious will they take a single hunter? I don't mind hunting with others, I just don't have anyone that is willing to travel to hunt. Also sent you a message on your site about a trip to Africa | |||

Usually they will put you with another hunter or very small group (2-3). This will extend your hunt as your limit on Redheads is 2 per day, so Scaup (Bluebill's) other divers, Pintail, Wigeon, Teal ect can round out your limit and your hunt will last a little longer than 10 minutes if your just after Redheads. I'll be there Jan 6-7 if you want to join us for two days of waterfowl and fishing. Received your email and replied. Victoria would be probably the closest but Houston or Houston Hobby might be cheaper. It will involve renting a car and driving 2-3 hours to Port O'Connor. Possible option would be to catch a ride if another hunter(s) are from the Houston area. I will already be done on the coast as I have several hunts lined up this season. David very kindly connected me with Brandon a few weeks ago and he definitely sounds like a 1st rate operator. Good guy, gets back to you promptly and is personable. His Cast & Blast trips sound particularly good. Ducks in the morning and redfish in the afternoon. He did tell me that Corpus Cristi is the airport to fly into. It less than a 90 minute drive from there to Port O’Connor. | |||
