Hunt zimbabwe's zambesi valley with Professional hunters Andrew Schoeman and Corris Ferreira of Baobab hunting safaris South African based and Track-a-hunt safaris Zimbabwean based,Outfitter permit nr.001-CPM401-00087,Tour operator number-HOP0120.

Myself Andrew Schoeman and Corris fereirra will be your host and professional hunters during your safari.
-address: 120 krogh street,makhado,South Africa. P.O.Box 159,Karoi,Zimbabwe
-Telephone numbers: cell: +27 83 457 3931; ladline:+27 15 5166193;

Area- Gache Gache Safari area is located on the Northern Parts of lake Kariba,The camp is situated on the shores of this spectacular lake where hundreds of hippo's and crocodiles can be seen everyday.Large herds of buffalo's fills the open spaces on the shore while elephants can be seen swimming in the lake. The concession is split up in two parts, the moutain side and the flat area along the lake. This is where we do most of the hunting, the flat area consist mainly of mopane forest and walking is not difficult. The mountain side however is tough hunting but fortunately no need to go up there unless you hunting for leopard or big ivory.

- 5day hippo hunt @ $7 000 trophy fees and daily rate included
- 7 day buffalo hunt @ $11 000 trophy fees and daily fees included
- 8day buffalo and hippo hunt @ $14 000 Daily fees and trophy fees included
- 8day buffalo and crocodile hunt @ $14 000 Daily fees and trophy fees included
- 10 day buffalo, hippo and crocodile @ $18 500 Daily fees and trophy fees included
- 12 day elephant hunt @ $26 700 Daily fees and trophy fees included
- 10 day 2x1 hunt.1 buffalo,1 hippo,1 crocodile @ $9500 per person Total=$19000 daily fees included for 2 people and trophy fees for 1 buffalo,1 hippo and 1 crocodile

Additional costs-2% government levy on total amount
- Transport to hunting area and back to airport( Clients have to fly into harare airport and then take a charter to hunting area $1000 one way or I can drive you to the hunting area at $250 one way.6 hours drive)
-tips to camp staff
-cities tags,($100)
If for some reason a client does not get his trophy then the trophy fee of that specific animal is deducted from the total cost.

Although we have shot 50 and 60 pound elephant in recent times in the area clients should not expect to shoot an elephant with ivory of over 50 pounds. If you want to have a great hunt and a great elephant hunting experience and 40 pound elephant is good enough for you this is the place to go.
Buffalo hippo and crocodile are in abundance all over the concession I attach some photos of the trophies taken the last couple of years,if i can manage to do it.We hunt the buffalo in the mopani forest tracking from a water hole or fresh tracks crossing a road or early mornings you find the old bulls on the lake shore.Hippo hunting in this area is very exciting and we hunt them outside the water in between the trees.Crocodiles we hunt by way of walking and stalking them where they are lying on sand banks or we make use of bait. The following Plainsgame you can find in the area :waterbuck, kudu, impala, eland, grysbuck, warthog, bushbuck,Duiker, klipspringer, zebra

open dates:
:June 10 -june 25

I thought that a Zimbabwean PH had to act as the professional hunter on a hunt in Zimbabwe? Can you tell us who the owner of Track-A-Hunt Safaris is and who would be the PH they are furnishing?

Hi Mike,

I wrote the name of the zimbabwean operator and Professional hunter in my first post. You must have missed the name.Corris Ferreira is his name. You are absolutely right when you said a zimbabwean professional hunter must act as professional hunter in zimbabwe.as a matter of fact in every country you need a professional hunters license for that specific country. Myself and Corris have been working together almost 10 years now and he is a licensed ph and operator in zimbabwe.I have also included the operator's number, you must have missed that too.

Just a couple of questions.

Is the "put and take" property or a natural breeding environment?

How easy is it to get a caracal? I do not see it in your trophy fee list.

Nakihunter,

The area is most definately a natural breeding ground for all the animals in the area. There are no fences in the area and it is 100% fair chase hunting. No Caracal on quota and I have not seen one in the area the past 10 years so no point in looking for one.We occasionaly see some serval cats in the area but there are no serval on quota.Of the small cats you will find civit cat, african wild cat and genet Cat in the area.

This is the area that I hunted with Andrew last year. Absolutely a wonderful area. Rich in buffalo, hippo, crocs, and elephant.

Andrew and I have hunted together for 12 years now, you won't find any better. We consider Andrew part of the family. Last year was my first year going to Gache Gache hunting with Corris and Andrew. It will not be my last for sure. Corris was an absolute pleasure to be around, wonderful host. Camp was great, food was great, and the company could not be better.

Here are some photos that Andrew asked me to post, and later I have some of my own I want to show you as well.

One of my buffalo, my daughter Mercedes and of Course Andrew

Some photos from my hunt in the Gache Gache with Andrew and Corris.

The first buffalo I took in the area. Corris in the background, Andrew on the side, trackers, and Mercedes and I.

Corris and Mercedes hit it off very well, and very much especially after Corris gave here driving lessons!

The elephant that wanted to bite me.

Second Buffalo on my quota

And the one cow I had on quota there

Corris, Mercedes, Andrew looking at lion tracks

Some scenery from the boat

My Hippo and Croc. Hippo on the dirt, right at the edge of the water, dropped where he stood.

And one of my favorite photos of buffalo. We saw this buffalo of course after I had already taken my two bulls!

The area is absolutely great for hippo, buffalo, croc and lots of elephant. Not a day went by that we did not see all 4 of these species in abundance.

Just after we left my friend Daryl Lenkic from Australia arrived to hunt the same area with Andrew and Corris. Daryl was there for his first buffalo and hippo, on his very first trip to Africa.

Really a great place, with great folks.

Michael

For sure, I have been talking to Mark quite regular. I had run completely out of the 480 BBW#13 Solids, and so had CEB. They have made a run now and should be on the way. I have to get Mark a few boxes to sort his load out. Hoping to get them in his hands this week.

Thanks

Thank Aaron.

Biebs, ya think you would get blood splatter at 10 paces? I'd rather get blood splatter on me, I think closer is better! I think Aaron just walk up and whap'em in the head, that 600 probably weighs 15 lbs, no need to shoot one of those expensive bullets!

I hunted this concession several years ago for non-exportable elephant. Had a great trip and posted a hunt report at that time. My PH on that hunt was Alan Shearing, and Coris acted as the camp manager and concession owner. I would not hesitate yo hunt with Coris. A wonderful area and a really nice guy. These sound like really fair prices.

Thanks for the camp photos Michael.
In my younger days I was prone to book and then ask, at this age I have come to desire a little more in creature comforts.
It looks delightful and I am quite interested ,especially since It is an area of Zim. I have only flown over but not hunted.
The 10 day 3 animal trip has got my attention.

I too have been is some very very less than desirable camps in my day! Andrew has never put me in one of those places either. Andrew knows what it takes to have a successful and enjoyable hunt. Besides just the hunting, or shooting, I demand a nice shower every day, good food, comfortable surroundings, good folks to be around, and above all, the damned beer better be COLD!
I have those things--I am happy, can make the rest work out! HEH........

I have hunted with Andrew for 12 years now, never once, not ever been disappointed in anything.

I have no doubts at all you would enjoy the area and Andrew and Corris are a pleasure to be around.

In my younger days, exactly like mel5141, I was prone to book, ask questions later! So I have spent some fairly rough days in the field! Rough nights too! Bad food as well! I don't hunt with those folks anymore. Too old, and too damned lazy for that!

Guys,

I just got back from hunting with Andrew and Corris in this area and had a fantastic Bargain Big Five safari (Mgt elephant bull, cape buffalo, leopard, hippo on land, and a big 14' croc). I will be posting some photos soon and a full hunt report by the middle of next week.
I think the 10 day buff, hippo and croc special that Andrew is offering now to be one of the best deals out there for DG hunting.
My hunt went so well I am going to change my name to Lucky Guns Core.
This almost ended up being a Big Six safaris as I had an easy shot at a big male lion that I passed on. I will tell you why in my hunt report to come.

Cheers,

Lucky Guns Core

I hunted with Andrew and Corris in May/June 2007. I took a Leopard and an Elephant. I had an issue with the airline losing my clothes and ammo for 6 days. It was unfortunate but we made lemonade out of lemons. Everything they offer is straight up. Corris which is the operator did everything to get my gear to me as soon as possible and he did. I kind of felt privileged to have two very good PH's.
This is a hunt you want to look real hard at.
The Leopard I got is to the left of my post.

Curious, I was unaware there were "management" elephant hunts of any type available in Zim, much less elephant bulls. The only "management" elephant hunts I have heard of are the much, and properly maligned, hunts that were being done by South African operators in Hwange. Perhaps one of the Zim operators can weigh in.

Hi Mike, The hunt Mike Core did was actually a Tuskless Elephant hunt but we do get permission to hunt what we call a management bull witch is a bull with no possibilities to become a trophy Elephant. Mikes Elephant only had one tusk and the other side had a weight of less than 15 pounds. The tusk will be going back to the council. Mike is only allowed to export the skin.
