Steve416 had booked this hunt but tragically his mother has become terminally ill. My prayers are with him and his family.

Thus now I have a Lion available for end May beginning June at Royal Kafue. In addition I had reserved a Hippo and a couple of buff for this hunt.

I am prepared to offer this opportunity at $1,250 a day (inclusive Government fees etc) for a minimum of 14 days and a Lion trophy fee of $35,000 based on success.

Worst comes to worst you get to hunt big game and the price will be on par with a buffalo hunt.

I will be the PH on this hunt and looking at the Lion activity now you will have a very good chance of success.

I maybe keen to split this hunt if you have a mate who wants to join you.

As stated the main trophy fees are such:

Lion $35,000
Hippo $2,500
First Buffalo $4,000
Second Buffalo $5,000
Roan $7,000

Perhaps the deal of the year.

I thought I shot the last of the "inexpensive" lions in 2012. I was wrong.

Good luck, Andrew, with this amazingly good opportunity.

Guys,

There nothing about this offer that's not great. I've been recently offered a lion to sell at $3,500 per day. Yikes!

I can!!

Just kidding. Knowing Surefire and the Mrs. I'm excited for both to enjoy this trip. He already knows how great an area this is to hunt. Hopefully the cats will cooperate.

Cheers

Thanks everybody!

I can barely contain my excitement.

I’ve decided upon taking two Dakota Safari rifles: 458 Lott (peep sights) & 375 H&H (Leu. 2.5-8 scope).

That should cover Lion, Buffalo, Hippo, etc.

Andrew has graciously written and photographed my hunt reports for me, so I will see if he will agree to do it once more.

And that, should be about in (9) weeks or so. Until then... Smiler

Thanks J&J! I can only hope to take one as nice as yours.

And thanks again you two for your ‘exploratory hunt’ with Andrew that first year of Royal Kafue’s grand opening. You have introduced me to the finest PH in all of my African hunting to date, and to the finest African country I’ve had the pleasure to visit. I am indebted to you!

That's the only negative. You only have 9 weeks to obsess about this instead of two years. Big Grin

Thanks again guys!

7 weeks is indeed the shortest notice I’ve had to date on a safari offer, but couldn’t pass it up.

I’m a little discombobbled, but I reminded myself that I already have my innoculations, my passport is up to date, I have my ammo and rifles ready, etc. My agent at Gracy Travel will call me tomorrow for airline tickets, and US Customs is will see me soon for new 4457s.

So, no worries, right?

Right... faint
