If you like to duck hunt, you’ll love this area. With exclusive rights to a 20-mile
stretch of the Bahia del Tobari, an estuary where you’ll be amazed at absolutely
some of the best duck hunting in the world.

Collectors and Wingshooters alike get the best of both worlds while hunting with us.
Lots of birds in exceptional Plumage!

As for the Doves, Sonoras Premier is located in the 700,000-acre Yaqui Valley at the
heart of some of Mexico's richest farming country. Vast fields of corn, sorghum and
sesame plus water holes create a natural habitat for big White Wing Dove and flight
after flight of Mourning Dove. This is pass shooting at its best!

Ducks:
Pintail, Wigeon, Cinnamon teal, Northern Shoveler, Green Winged Teal, Mexican Mottled
Duck, Redhead, and Pacific Black Brant are the most common duck species on the estuary.
Black Belly & Fulvous Whistling Ducks, Blue-Winged Teal, Greater and Lesser Scaup, Ruddy
Duck, Gadwall and others are taken on occasion pending migration times and dates of the
season.

Limits
To ensure quality hunting we will have no more than 8 hunters per day for duck hunting (4
blinds, 2 hunters per blind). The Estuary has a quota of 5000 plus birds that can be taken
annually. Each hunter is assigned a license for 45 ducks per day. Limited pressure ensures
quality hunting. Blinds can expect 30-40 birds per day, upwards to 60. (pending the
shooters ability of course) There is a 4 box per person limit on ammo for duck hunts.

Hunting
Hunters travel 45 minutes by private van to the water's edge where you are
whisked off by airboat to your private blind. Decoys are set...and the fun begins.
Expect to see thousands of Waterfowl and Shorebirds. The liberal limits in Mexico
will make our trip unforgettable! Each hunter will be assigned a Beretta or Beneli
M1, with one extra gun per blind in case of malfunction. Birds are picked up by the
airboat drivers and brought to you for inspection, etc.. Waterfowl hunts on the
estuary are generally 5 hours. Am hunts are the most common; however, Pm hunts
are just as good pending the tide.

The Dove Shooting is based on half day events, generally 35-40 minutes from the
lodge. Pass shooting in scrubby Cactus and Mesquite, or in fields is the norm.
Hunters can expect to shoot 5, 10, 15, or more boxes of shells in a morning or
afternoon. An experienced bird boy is assigned to each hunter. Your bird boy will
spot and retrieve your birds, keep you stocked in ammo and fetch you a cold
beverage whenever you're thirsty

For the Collectors, a special hunt has been arranged for Mexican Ducks (Anas
Diazi), this is a variety of Mottled Duck that resembles the American Black Duck.
These are taken in the irrigation canals in the farming areas. Cinnamon teal are
also taken as well. One of these half day shoots can be arranged exclusively.

Rates
An all inclusive package has been created for $4,550.00 (includes tips)
So there are no worries on who to tip, when, or how :
4 duck hunts:
2 in the marsh
1 in the fresh water ponds ( 2 if necessary )
1 canal hunt ( if asked for )
And 4 either Dove Gamble's Quail or Bass fishing trips, whatever of the 3 activities you
choose there will not be an extra charge per activity!
Out of the $4,550.00
$500 USD is for tips: Breakdown as follows
$25 USD per Dove or Quail hunt X 4 = $100 ( 1 bird boy for the whole trip ).
$75 USD per hunt in Tobari X2 = $150 ($25 each, 3 guides ).
$50 USD fresh wáter áreas X 1 = $50 (25 each,2 guides ).
$70 USD canal shoot X 1 = $70 (35 each,2 guides).
$65 USD for your Bartender for the whole trip.
$65 USD for your Chef for the whole trip.
TOTAL OF $500.00
ADD ON:
$150 USD is used for :
1 dove tag $75
1 duck tag $75

The cost for a Brant tag and Quail tag is $75 each, that cost would be added if
necessary to the bill at the end of the trip.
So basically the cost of the package is of $3,900.00 without tips and tags, so that's why we try to make it as easy as possible. Shells are $14.00 per box for Quail/Doves, Duck loads are $14.75 a box.

Flights:
DAILY FLIGHTS ARE AVAILABLE ON AEROMEXICO FROM PHOENIX AND LOS ANGELES
TO CIUDAD OBREGON, SONORA, MEXICO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. Flights range depending on your location in price from $800 and up.
Note: All U.S. citizens entering Mexico by air will be required to provide a valid passport.
Please check with your airline when booking your tickets for more information.

Trophy birds:
IF YOU WISH TO TAKE GAME BACK TO THE U.S., You may bring your own cooler as luggage and/or purchase one at the local Walmart for around $50. If you plan to take Trophy Birds home, We will assist you with your importation through Phoenix, Dallas, Houston or other port of entry with all paperwork. Please contact me at hunts@grayghostsafaris.com/
Currently, I have openings in January and early February. I can accommodate up to 8 hunters per trip. No need to bring your shotgun, there are Benelli's and Beretta's for your use. You will need to bring light weight waders, HEAVY JACKET FOR DUCK HUNTING, EARPLUGS, SHELL VEST, HAT, SUNGLASSES, SUNSCREEN, INSECT REPELLENT. Most hunters would be able to take most of the trophy birds available and at that time of year, PRIME PLUMAGE! I have one of the best bird taxidermist in the entire USA to clear and/or mount your birds. He is hands down a true world champion. This will most likely sell out before DSC so contact me ASAP if your interested. My Canada Canvasback and Redhead hunts are sold out for this 2018-2019 season. Cheers, LDK

It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

Looks like a fun place to hunt, but the day will never come when I pay for a hunt that has tips included in the upfront cost.

This was designed for the tight wads that never offer a tip of any kind, believing they owe nothing for personal service. I've done the same for saltwater trips due to a few that spent two days offshore with us and wouldn't give anyone a $1 tip. I don't own this outfit and I have no problem with tipping, even if it's included and reasonable.

No one I know, including me, doesn't tip, and tip well for hunting and fishing guides who knew their stuff and were actively working hard to make a trip a successful one. Even if the results weren't perfect, as long as the guide(s) worked hard and did their best, a proper tip is always given.

That you've set up trips for a number of cheap bastards still doesn't justify building a tip into the tab, IMO.

And BTW, if your so-called 'tip' isn't voluntary, it not a tip. It's an added charge.

First of all, this isn't "my trip." It is operated by a good set of American's and locals in partnership with the Yaqui Indian tribe. You do not hunt this area without their permission and it's why the waterfowling remains excellent for taking trophy ducks and brant and it's not uncommon to tag a few bands. It is a package that includes tips. Call it what you like but the number one question I get is "How much do I tip everyone who is directly connected to my hunt?" With me it is optional but 95% of hunters do tip, and for those who wish to tip individually, I'm sure they can book the hunt for $3,900 and prove to the owners there is no need to package in tipping. However, it's not my land nor company, I'm offering their services with FULL disclosure, no commission to myself and BTW, I didn't need to tell anyone tips were included, but why lie or cover anything up. This is a great hunt, a chance to take some uncommon birds to most of the USA and unlike many countries, bring back a load for mounting if desired. I really don't understand why you feel the need to rebuke something you don't like L, why not just move on to the next post instead of beating a horse you've already killed. Nothing here for you, find another live one.
