Good day all

We are extremely excited to announce that Ndumo Hunting Safaris has been awarded the much coveted Bwabwata National Park East hunting block in Namibia’s Caprivi region!

This hunting block, Bwabwata East, is home to huge numbers of elephant, buffalo and plains game, as well as very healthy numbers of aquatic game and predators. Due to the very low quotas, exceptional trophy quality can be expected. Elephant trophies of heavier than 65 pounds, and buffalo bulls of over 42 inches can realistically be expected, with very good leopard hunting and exceptional plains game also available.

In fact, Bwabwata may be the best hunting area left in Southern Africa, and definitely the best that Namibia has to offer by a wide margin. The area consist of 670 000 acres of varying terrain, with 3 distinct biomes, namely swampy reeds, open floodplain, and Kalahari bush veld.

The above picture shows the proposed building site for the camp that we plan to start building very early in 2016. It also shows the 3 distinct different biomes, with the thick Kalahari bush in the background. (This picture was taken recently, at the start of the rainy season, after an extremely dry season.) The camp will be on stilts, with wooden floors and thatch roofs. Walls will be a combination of canvas, mosquito net and wood.
Due to the very exclusive area, lots of other game that will be seen daily during a hunt, and the exceptional trophies that can be expected, hunts in the Bwabwata National Park does come at a premium. But all things considered, I don’t think there is a more accessible area, with the same quality of game that has a quota of elephant that can be exported to the USA.
(Please note that although buffalo and elephant may be seen on floodplains, we will only hunt hippo, crocodile, letchwe and reedbuck on the floodplains. Buffalo, elephant and other game will only be hunted in the bush area of the concession, on a spot and stalk or tracking hunt. The floodplains are a relatively small section of the concession, although a lot of the photos we have taken recently was of this section. In other words, the hunting would be much different to other Caprivi areas that sometimes consists mainly of floodplains, and be a classic walk stalk and track hunt.)

Although we just signed the contract last week, we have already sold most of the quota for 2016, but we have a few remaining elephant, buffalo and leopard hunts left. All these will be sold as packages, as follows:
Bwabwata East Packages:
1) 7 day trophy buffalo hunt @ US$ 25 000
2) 14 day leopard hunt@ US$ 33 000
3) 14 day trophy buffalo and leopard hunt@ US$ 45 000
4) 14 day trophy elephant hunt @ US$ 80 000
5) 16 day trophy elephant and buffalo hunt @ US$ 95 000
6) 21 day trophy elephant, buffalo and leopard hunt @ US$ 105 000
7) 28 day trophy elephant, buffalo, leopard, roan, sable, hippo, crocodile and letchwe hunt @ US$ 165 000
All above packages includes the mentioned trophies, day fees, VAT, pick up and drop off at Kasane (Botswana), or Katima Mulilo (Namibia), one temporary rifle import permit if flying via Botswana.

Although I am on vacation at the moment, I can still be reached via email (karl@huntingsafaris.net) or on +264811285416, or alternatively on +27827744334, if you would like to discuss one of these hunts.
My administrative assistant, Ilse, can be reached on admin@huntingsafaris.net.

Myself or Fred Bezuidenhout will most likely do the hunts, depending on time of the year. (We will still conduct safaris in our two communal concessions, namely Sobbe and Sikunga also).

We will again be at the annual conventions early next year, so please feel free to come and discuss a hunt in Bwabwata (or any of our other areas), for your dream hunt.

A few clarifying statements regarding refunds and deposits that came up during some PMs:

Our normal policy are as follows:

Deposits on packages:
A deposit of 50% of the full package amount will secure quota.
(In case a hunt is booked for more than a year in advance, the deposit amount can be 25% of the total package fee to secure quota, then another 25% in January of the year the hunt will take place.)
The balance of the package must be fully paid no later than 30 days prior to the start of the hunt.

Deposits on booking extra animals not part of a package:
30% of trophy fee to secure the quota (only necessary on high value animals)
Rest (70%) at the end of the hunt
(This is only if a client wants to make sure that a specific animal on quota is reserved for him/ her, on high value animals. (Any animal, also high value animals may be hunted at the listed trophy fee if it was not booked by someone else, on any hunt.)

Refunds:

1) If Ndumo Safaris has to cancel the hunt, full refund on deposits paid

2) If client, his agent or his representative cancels the hunt, no refund on deposits, subject to outfitters own discretion.

3) Trophy fees paid as deposits or which forms part of packages, will be refunded as follows:

When the animal was NOT successfully hunted*, AND

a) Paid as part of a package, refunded at 90% of the current trophy fee list price of Ndumo Safaris, or
b) If partly paid on high value animal (like roan, sable, leopard, hippo, crocodile, buffalo, elephant) as a deposit to reserve the quota for a specific client, the full deposit paid on that specific animal will be refunded. In case a hunter passes on the opportunity to hunt the booked animal, there will be no refund though. The deposit is ONLY fully refundable if a good mature representative trophy of the booked animal cannot be found in the full amount of hunting days booked.**

* (An unsuccessful hunt is defined as no shot taken, missed shot or turning down a mature representative animal of the species booked. It does NOT include the possibility that a client has not even come on safari.)
** (In case a good mature representative trophy of the booked animal is turned down, or missed, the refund amount will be equal to the amount that the outfitter can resell that specific animal to another possible hunter, IN THE SAME YEAR.)

Of course, we can be flexible up to a point, but if something really bothers someone in above conditions, I will try and explain why it is in there, which should make anyone more comfortable with the conditions.
If still not comfortable with them, then I will be open for a discussion to exclude or amend it to suit individual persons, up to a point.

Frank, not sure what you mean? You have hunted that area with me 6 years ago, so should know the quality available.
Also, not sure about the 200K deal? That would be our big 5 hunt, including rhino and lion, so not what was advertise here...?

Anyway, thanks for the good luck part, that I understand!

Not sure about how this applies to hunting elephant. If I was looking for a certain weight frame and saw several bulls that were mature but just did not have the weight I was looking for, would the TF be refunded?

Bama 15, it depends on a couple of things. As in all things, it is important to let your outfitter know your expectations, and discuss and manage them together.
Normally the short answer would be yes, if you are looking for a realistic size, say 65 to 70 pounds.
It also depends what time of the season it is, as the whole quota is payable, wheter it is hunted or not. So I will not like to book a guy right at the end of the season that will turn down all bulls bellow 80 pounds...
I normally suggest to a hunter that only wants to shoot something spectacular, like exaple above, that we do it on a day rate and trophy rate deal, but then we work the trophy fee on a sliding scale, which I personally hate, but that seems the fairest to both parties concerned in such case.

Like most things, it is open for discussion, until both the outfitter and client are happy. Whats your thoughts on above?

Maybe not the best angle to show off tusks, but two bull I hunted there in 2010 that is on my photobucket account. one went perfectly simmetriacal 68 , other 55 if I remember correctly. (55lbs one shot by hunter from AR, he can chip in if he wants, but if we could walk more, we could have shot a much bigger bull. This one shot on day 2.)

Hi all

Just a quick heads up, all the advertised elephant hunts has been sold for 2016, most for 2017 as well.

I do however have a few elephant trophy hunts left on our conservancy areas, at a much more affordale price (US$ 48 500 all inclusive.)
Expect a bull of 40 to 55 lbs, with occational bigger ones.
I will be posting a couple of photos of bulls we shot on the conservancy areas in the last couple of years in a seperate post.
