Andrew Baldry and I have been working together for sometime and now that he has secured his quota for The Royal Kafue on Zambia's Kafue river we are going ahead with the marketing.

The Royal Kafue is a 45,000 acre unfenced private property on the Kafue river. Andrew has posted a detailed description of the area on the African Hunting Forum titled On New Years Day.

My client Frostbit is taking the first hunt in this new area for '12. He's excited as am I for he and his wife. I'll be there myself looking for a Crawshay's waterbuck in Sept. so I'll have some boots on the ground there this year. I'm expecting nothing but a great adventure.

There is no recent hunting history on the area to quote but it would appear from what Andrew reports that the lion, leopard and sable should be very good with a good selection of other game including roan. As the Royal Kafue is right on the river croc and hippo will also be readily available.

If your interested in Zambia for '13 you probably know that the GMAs are coming up tender in '12 and nobody really knows who will have what GMA and nobody knows where the pricing will go. This makes the Royal Kafue even more attractive for a forward booking as private property is uneffected by tender.

At this point the schedule is pretty open for '12 and '13 so if your interested we can probably accommodate you about anytime. Cats of course are best early in the season and big antelope later in the year.

Not for the first year. As the buffalo are still not resident I offer it more as an opportunity on other safaris. Same goes for elephant.

My sweet wife, who has some Christmas money left, would like to know if the 18 day lion safari includes the opportunity to hunt roan and sable for TF only?

And buff and jumbo as targets of opportunity if they are in the area at the time?

Mark, you better spot her at DSC and get her money on Thursday. She and a group of girls make their annual, all-day trip to Neiman's on Friday. By Saturday, she'll be as broke as me.

Sent you a PM. It is normal for the Lion hunter to have first choice on the quota and it is preferred that this is the first safari of the season.

Elephant are a nuisance in the adjacent community in April?May and one of my jobs is to sort out these conflicts. If I see good Ivory then I am looking for someone to come out at the drop of a hat. Lion will be best in June when the grass is still long.
