Good Lord, the Mann River is amazing, remote country! Got into big trouble with the Missus for coming home late when I was last there. I have happy memories of my mate Bidgip legging it away from a young scrubber we didn't want to shoot (as we already had a heap of meat on the ground to cut-up) and launching himself like an athlete onto the back of the ute, while the rest of us nursed our aching sides with laughter! But Mann River is gorgeous. Proper wild country with plenty of good bulls.

No report. It was just a Saturday drive with the guys to look at kantri (country) and get meat. We got heaps of beef, some 'roo, turkeys and bream. All with the Sako .375H&H (except the bream). The oldest member of our team killed buffalo with shovel-nosed spear when he was a young bloke.

This sounds like a fantastic adventure. Just too soon to be able to get away from work, but maybe something to think about for next year!! I book marked the website and will be watching to see what the prices are like towards the end of the year.

What about a hunt that includes a Banteng and a trophy buffalo? Couple of culls? so much the better. I love wild cattle.

We do offer a free range combo hunt. The Banteng hunt is in a separate area (Murgenella) from our Mann river Buffalo area. Here are details of the combo hunt: Banteng combination hunts: We offer a 13-day package, which includes a fully-guided 5-day buffalo hunts in the Aboriginal Reserve of Central Arnhem Land Plateau Mann River and a 5-day Banteng or Boar hunt in the Murgenella Floodplains of Western Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory of Australia. Day 1 is for travelling to our Mann River buffalo camp; then 5 days hunting Buffalo and wild Oxen; day 7 is for transfer to our Murgenella Floodplains camp; then 5 days hunting Banteng and/or Boars; and, day 13 is for travelling back to Darwin. Or, you may wish to tailor your own hunt with additional hunting days.
Best times to hunt Banteng are in August when the bulls are going at each other (rut if you will). I'm sorting out pricing at present and will advise asap. LDK

We are almost full for next season (2017) in our Mann river camp. The only open dates I have remaining are:
June 6, 2017 – June 12, 2017
or
June 26 2017 – August 9, 2017

Banteng can be sorted out if desired. We had some outstanding bulls taken this year with 3 hunts remaining. LDK

Had another great season for 2016 taking plenty of trophy class Buffalo, Banteng and wild Boar. Trophy's exceeded the norm and the Banteng hunting was over the top. If anyone interest in 2017 or 2018 and would like to receive more pics of same game, just email me and I'll send you some of each or a specific quarry. Good camps, good food, and great hunting await those that want to hunt true wilderness. Cheers, LDK

Free-Range Banteng Hunting
The banteng (Bos javanicus) is a species of wild cattle found in Southeast Asia that was first introduced to Australia in 1849 with the establishment of a British military outpost called Port Essington on the Cobourg Peninsula. The population has not strayed far from its initial point of domesticated life; all currently live within the Garig Gunak Barlu National Park to the north-western Murgenella Floodplains area where they are found primarily within the monsoon forests, woodland areas, springs and grasslands.

We are now booking Australian Buffalo hunts for next year and 2019. Here's what we have left open for 2018:
Our 2018 season has 4 or 5 vacancies remaining:
11th – 25th June 2018 (room for a double, combination or 2 single hunts here).
16th – 22nd July 2018
25th – 31st July 2018
3rd – 9th August 2018 (this and the 2 previous date ranges could also be altered for double or combination packages for scrub bulls/wild boar). Banteng are in a separate area from our main buffalo camp.
We are also currently taking bookings for the 2019 season, however there are still plenty of dates available. Contact me for more details or to book your hunt. LDK
