Folks,

DLS and a friend just finished up a hunt on Hammond with Alan Vincent.

zoom down to 100% to best see pix

DLS's friend took this beautiful 42" bull with 16" boss.

DLS was looking for a non trophy bull and he found this old warrior.

I don't remember seeing a buffalo with this much of a broken boss.

I have 6 buffalo available for this year on the SAVE VALLEY CONSERVANCY in the Hammond and Nyangambe blocks. These two areaS have a common border so you can hunt both area on any one hunt. Hammond historically has been one of the best blocks for buffalo on the SVC with the biggest resident buff herd on the SVC and Nyangambe is coming along under the stewardship of Sean Grant and his wife Ty as Shangani River Safaris. They now have the quota for both blocks.

The camp is in Nyangambe and brand new with all the comforts.

PRICING (This is the lowest price I can remember in recent years for a quality hunt)

1X1 10 DAYS $1,100 PER DAY
2% TAX ON DAY FEES
4% ON TROPHY FEES
VAT $23 PER DAY PER PERSON
OBSERVER $250 PER DAYS
ROAD TRANSFER BULAWAYO-SVC-RETURN INCLUDE
BUFFALO TROPHY FEE $5,000

PLAINS GAME TROPHY FEES:

Bushbuck $900
Duiker $300
Eland $2,200
Giraffe $1,700
Warthog $550
Wildebeest $1,100
Zebra $1,500
Kudu $1,700
Hyena $750
Impala $250

Call me and get in a great buff hunt at a great price this year.

Cheers,

Mark

I just logged in for the first time since arriving at Hammond on the 16th evening.

This place is “Buffalo Central”. Tons of buffalo and elephant around. My buddy is 81 years old and a bit slow. Regardless, he shot a fantastic buffalo our 2nd evening. 16” bosses and 42” spread with good, deep curls and long tips. He shot very well, 2 perfectly placed TSX’s from my 375 I brought for him and his bull went less than 30 yards before dropping.

I’ve been hunting a “non-trophy, non-export management bull” which I stretched out by passing up quite a few until shooting the pictured one on day six. Alan & I were 10-40 yards from buffalo pretty constantly for 3 1/2 days, having a ball getting among them in very thick bush from the heavy and late rainy season. I finally shot what I wanted…. An old, broken boss, tips broomed bull. We’re guessing him at 12-13 years old. He was in a large herd we somehow got into the middle of and shot him at about 30 yards. One 416 Bearclaw and he went about 50 yards. Even at that, it was so thick it took a bit to find him.

If you enjoy buffalo hunting, Hammond is a great place to do it. I think a trophy bull along with 2 or 3 non-trophy management bulls would make for a perfect 10-day hunt.

Tomorrow is our last day. I hate that we have to head home.

I have been 4 times . 09-12. Back then, there was a massive amount of buffalo . A friend of mine will be managing the place later this year . He says there are indeed massive amounts of buffalo.
