Heading to hunt Zambia later this summer. this will be my 4th trip to Zambia over the past 10 years. Last there 4 years ago. Need to overnight in Lusaka for the up coming trip. Need up dated info on where to stay. The last trip I stayed at the Kingfisher Lodge, in s residential neighborhood. The rooms were dated and in need of repairs, but was comfortable. Also, stayed at the the old Intercontinental, SunDowner Protea, and Chaminuka Lodge. Any suggestions?

I stayed at the Protea Hotel by Marriott last year before and after my safari. It was fine. They had a great breakfast buffet. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Perfect for arriving tired after long flights and turning into a hunter overnight. I would be happy to stay there again.

Best regards, D. Nelson

The Taj Pamodzi is nicer than the Protea hotels, or at least it was back in 2012. That said, the Protea hotels are fine.

...Might give a look at LILAYI LODGE. Have not stayed there in several years, but it was very nice. Had a good bar, the food was great, and the rooms/chalets were clean, and fresh.

Another vote for the Taj Pamodzi. The wasabe shrimp at the braii is killer.

We also stayed at the Taj with no complaints.

Whats dates are you in Lusaka? If I am around you are more than welcome to stay with Julie and I.

If not the Protea Arcades and the Taj Pamodzi are both good options. There is a Radisson Blue but it is a bit pricey.

Best

Andrew

Waaaaay back in 98.. I stayed in what is now the Sun Ridgeway.. It was pretty run down back then, but looks to have had a great infusion of money and looks spectacular on their website..

I swear to this day, I had the best steak I have ever eaten at the adjoining steak house next door..

Make sure I'm booked to enjoy your hospitality, meet Julie, get Tom prepped and meet the hounds of the manor! Great way to enjoy the night before we depart on safari! And then again on return!
Should be fun!!!!
