Legally speaking, I am pretty sure the Namibian season opens Feb. 1st. "...Africa. I love it, and there is no reason for me to explore why. She affects some people that way, and those who feel as I do need no explanation." from The Last Safari

Not legal, but the earliest in the spring you can go and have a good hunt weather and game wise. Hunting: Exercising dominion over creation at 2800 fps.

Duckear, It depends alot on species your after in Zim. March/April can be very good for ele or leopard in the right areas but difficult for buff and PG. I don't think it makes a huge difference in Namibia if your talking about PG. When I hunted there the operator I used said the hunting was very good even in Feb. Mark MARK H. In Namibia, March = Sept, April = October, May = November, etc. The late rainy season usually occurs in February and subsides in March, and even then, it may or may not be that "rainy". Depending on the not-totally-predictable weather, I would ideally not want to go until April, with May and June being typically better times. Of course, the potential for rain (and heat) is greater in the north of the country than in the drier (and cooler) south. If you wished to plan an early hunt, it might be more reasonable to plan it in the south.

Weather-wise, most of us do not care for Namibia after Oct 1, that is unless you like Death Valley, CA, or Phoenix, AZ in June. "What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value." -Thomas Paine, "American Crisis"
