Hope everyone had a blessed Memorial Day. Personally it brought up some dark memories (20 + years, multiple tours) but it's nothing new. Anyway... Heading to Alaska to hunt Brown Bear. Trying to put the final "need to get" touches together. Just wondering how many locks have you been putting on your gun cases? Anyone have any recent input on the TSA and domestic travel recently? I have a SKB and ICC double case (which is more than enough) that has the ability for 4 locks. How picky has TSA been? If it helps, I'm flying out of Philly on Alaska Airlines. Really not looking to put 4 individual looks on the case. MSG, USA (Ret.) Armor NRA Life Memeber

Locks on your gun case. A lock needs to be placed where there is a place to place one on your gun case. Non TSA lock. Take spare locks along, in case your locks are cut off. Under the foam at a corner have a note with instructions on you have placed replacement locks if they need to cut your lock offs. Have all your locks keyed the same. >>>>>>>>>>>>>> "You've got the strongest hand in the world. That's right. Your hand. The hand that marks the ballot. The hand that pulls the voting lever. I travel to Alaska every year (sometimes several times) with a Pelican case and have never had an issue with 2 locks. Technically it could accept 4 locks, but this has never been an issue. Bill

If you want to take the chance of getting hung up with a problem over two locks proceed and press your luck. Otherwise, fill the holes and be done with it. Like said, it just takes one to say no. One lock is all that is required when you check in the firearm. Last year I checked in 27 handguns with Alaska Airlines on a flight from TN to Anchorage. One lock per case, and then I put multiple cases inside a tote until it weighed 50 pounds. Shipped 3 totes. No issues at all. I also attached a small zip tie to each case as I was curious to see if TSA would open any of the boxes. They did not. My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.
