Multiple people on here referenced the need to inform Airlink before departure that we would be traveling with firearms. I sent them an email and received a reply that they would require a "service fee" per passenger of ZAR2664 ($152), has anyone else experienced this?

Man, quit the game for a few years (or 10) and all kinds of shit changes. This used to be a lot easier. Ida been screwed if I just showed up at the airport with my kit like I used too.

Yeah, you would have been. In case you didn’t catch this detail, you have to pay this in cash. Airlink has a desk where you go to pay this fee.

I flew Airlink last week. I had notified them a couple of weeks prior that I would have a firearm. They acknowledged my email and did not request any payment.

I did pay approximately $35 at the ticket counter for one firearm

Are you sure you are on the correct website and not some scammer .

I’m with you. I was flying with 2 rifles and if I remember correctly it was $75 or so total.

I have paid the fee the last few trips. Was told it is because there is a 3rd party they pay to handle the rifles now. I have paid by card never cash at desk there and fees have never been over 100. They d want notice before hand your bringing rifles

there is a company called flight network that books airlink tickets and you can get them mixed up with Airlink that might have happened. I have only paid about 75.00 to Airlink for 2 rifles and just 2 months ago

You would be fine… they just charge you at the counter
It’s a nuisance fee basically
