For those traveling abroad the State Dept has a program where one can sign up for travel alerts and notifications and can enter travel plans for country/region specific alerts and notifications. Simple to do, takes only 15-20 min and they don’t inundate you with BS emails or texts. Program is called STEP and can be found at state.step.gov.
