Sounds great, Emirates was a very good experience for us last year, Houston-Dubai-Lusaka-Harare.

Do you have your rifle permits for Dubai?

Yay! Have a great hunt and safe travels.

I found Emirates to be a well oiled machine as far as traveling with rifles was concerned. I was with my 15 year old son so I really appreciated that. In Houston the gate agent supervisor walked us to TSA for inspection then we did not see the guns again until arrival in Harare. We overnighted in Dubai at a hotel where Emirates arranged for/paid for the room and the included meals were great.

Every flight was on time and even though I can only speak Alabama English, we had no issues in the Dubai airport getting around.

Emirates was the complete opposite of Air France in every way where everything was ten times harder than necessary.

I opted to stay in transit hotel rather than the one the provided. I just didn't want to go in and out of customs & Immigrations. I figure I can do some duty free shopping too. But I am flying biz class so I'm anxious to experience Emirates. Everyone says I'll enjoy it!

Good hunting Darin!

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...

And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Darin, the duty free is stunning. You can buy anything from deodorant to a Rolex. It is like a mall. Not many bargains but fun to wander through for sure.

Have a great trip.

Thanks for the good wishes, all!

I'm so excited. Feels like my first safari instead of #12.

Unlike most of you, my "to do" list is now down to manicure, pedicure, facial, hair & pack the Tuffpak!

dancing

I'm driving everyone crazy!

Hugs to all, Darin
