I flew from PHX to Chicago in Dec and a young woman brought on a bulldog. The dog would not stay put; kept tugging on the leash to get into the aisle; knocked over another passenger's coffee. The owner, seated in the row behind first class, asked if the dog could have a dinner roll as the FC FA was passing them out. WTF???
Then, get this, the dog squats in the aisle and takes a dump. But not a dump - total diarrhea. It smelled like vomit; i thought I would puke. An hour later the dog does it again and at that point I told her that dog should never fly again. She claimed it was a service dog. Bullshit. She could see fine, and with her feet propped on the bulkhead wall most of the flight, I could see she wasn't emotionally stressed out.
On of the FAs told me she said "the crew had an attitude." I gave her my card and said if she writes any letters to United that get any of the crew in hot water, I would be happy to serve as a counterpoint to that BS.
Time for animals to be banned on planes unless you are blind and they truly are service animals.
