I'm taking my Encore pistol to SA in July, I've never taken a pistol before and would like suggestions for a TSA approved case from those who have done it. Also, how does CBP and SAPS handle multiple caliber barrels on 4457's and SAPS forms? Barrels have no serial number. Any ideas will be appreciated.

As far as a case, I’m sure Pelican, SKB, and the others would work.
I hadn't thought about Blazer, I'll send Beibs an email and ask. I've checked out Pelican and SKB (I have and really like SKB rifle cases) but I haven't found one that I like, waiting on a reply from T/C, too. Thanks!
As to the cases, Americase is another option. I have one for my 470 Double, which I think is protective and durable. They also make pistol cases, both single and double, and they'll custom make one.
I've taken countless Encores to Africa in the past. The SAPS looks at the sn on the frame. They have never cared about any markings on the barrels. I have used a take down aluminum shotgun case the last 20+ years on all my travels. It easily holds 2 Encores or XP-100s and a scoped revolver.
