I flew for the Airlines for 40 years and would have done the same....
Your spinning the cylinder whether the second hand smoke may affect you and whether or not you may be drug tested upon landing

Disruptive crap like this keeps happening because they don't punish the idiots enough.

The penalty should start at the entire cost of the airline for fuel, engine cycles, landing fees, crew overtime, meals and other amenities for the other delayed customers, scheduling delays that affect other flights, court costs, police transportation costs, etc.

If stupid is painful, a lot less stupid will occur.
