I've not seen rand in an ATM here in the US.

But at JNB you will find ATMs and bank currency exchanges as soon as you arrive.

From the OR Tambo International web site:

" Banks
There are branches of Nedbank and ABSA on the mezzanine level of the public concourse in International Arrivals.

Automated teller machines (ATMs)
ATMs can be found in:

* the public concourse of International Arrivals; and
* level 1 of the shopping concourse in the Domestic Terminal.

Foreign exchange
The foreign-exchange outlets of ABSA bank, American Express, Rennies and Master Currency are all in the public concourse of the International Arrivals hall. ABSA also has an outlet in the holding lounge of International Departures, but this is not for the use of South Africans."

You might email your PH/Outfitter. Mine has whatever Rand I need when I arrive. I pay no exchange rate and it works out just fine. LDK

Thanks for some reason I thought they were in the ATM in the Atlanta Airport. It must have been euros.

Got to watch those exchanges in South Africa. Got my VAT refund. They wrote me a check and said I could cash it at the bank The bank had a handling fee so they took some of the money. Told me if I wanted to exchange to dollars it would cost me some more which would have been a large% since I only have a couple of hundred Rand.
