We are booking airfare through Gracy Travel for a hunt in Namibia next May. They have already reserved seats for us and have the option to alter the reservations if necessary. I would work through an agent and get seats reserved as the cheapest seats go first. ______________________ I don't shoot elk at 600 yards for the same reasons I don't shoot ducks on the water, or turkeys from their roosts. If this confuses you then you're not welcome in my hunting camp.

I normally try to book all my flights at least 6 months ahead. This ensures seat availability and lowest fares. For our trip to Namibia this past April, I had to wait until SCI in Reno to get things arranged, as my wife's surgery schedule and personnel availability was uncertain at the time. That was only 3 1/2 months ahead, and ended up costing me about $500 more on each ticket (couple of trophy fees). You are definately better off booking as early as possible, and like mentioned before, most agencies can re-adjust your flights if necessary. Travel insurance covers the unforseen emergencies and cancellations.

I used American Express points for my trip in June to RSA. Unfortunately, teh flight out of DC We wanted we couldnt' take because they were only offering 10 tickets per flight on the buy 1 get 1 free. We flew out the next day and spent a couple days in DC sightseeing.

We're already booking clients into July 2008. SAA seats are filling. Choice seats for next May could be scarce. Better make some calls ASAP. The travel agents I spoke with couldn't handle the tickets with the Amex Voucher, but I called SAA direct in Ft. Lauderdale and got the flights. I actually booked out of Chicago and when SAA cancelled those flights they put us on the DC flight that originally we couldn't get in.
